How literally every pledge/donation works by celebrities or corporations.
When stores ask “would you like to donate” this is what they mean.
Literally “would you like to donate to help pay our taxes and improve our public image?” 😂
Stores can't write off donations from the public on their taxes. That's tax fraud.
However, the public CAN write those off.
A viral meme makes the claim that companies use checkout charities to offset their own taxes. Stores cannot legally deduct customer donation
I'm wheezing, those scams are still going? I'm fighting a legal battle against my former employer and it's killing me, maybe I should become Muhammad Abdullah with 16 mothers, an uncle in critical condition under the snow covered rubble, 3 dead but fighting sons and a sick wife for a while and I'll be able to pay my digs lmfao
His daughter is orphaned 😔😔😔
her children r literally shivering in her arms in the freezing cold of 25-30C 😔😔😔😔😔😔
She desperately needs crochet supplies to survive😔😔😔😔
At this point, I can only conclude that the reason why tumblr has not blocked Gaza e-begging is that they are the ones behind it, in a desperate attempt to keep the lights on.

med people are so annoying "This family's 8 year old child who was about to go through a major surgery and kept crying that she was hungry so they pitied her and gave her food, she then had a heart attack in the surgery. They're so stupid 😒" girl they didn't know that could happen or why it happens. it takes so little time to explain to them that will happen instead of telling them "no food" with no explanation 10 times
"Before surgery, your body’s reflexes that protect your airway are relaxed by anesthesia. If there’s food or liquid in your stomach, it will near certainly come back up and go into your lungs, which can cause choking, a severe lung / heart infection or even a heart attack. That’s called aspiration, and it is life-threatening. It's hard, but it's only a single day to prevent near certain death. Not eating or drinking beforehand massively lowers the risk and helps prevent these life threatening situations under anesthesia." <- TIP: patients have brains which allows them to receive information just like you
I have four kids. I’ve had one or another of them need some kind of surgical procedure that requires anesthesia four or five times over the past 15 years.
This Tumblr post is the first time someone has explained to me *why* I couldn’t feed them before those instances.
I’m not stupid. I understood that just fine. Hell, my kids would have understood that just fine. But no one bothered to tell us.
i did know this before having kids (i have six). we have a kid that's needed multiple procedures requiring anesthesia. and every single time, i am asked multiple times if i'm sure he was not given any food or water after a certain point.
every single time i have had to say, "i understand that if he had food or water, he could aspirate it into his lungs under anesthesia. i am not lying to you." THEN someone would make a little note and i would stop being repeatedly asked.
not a single time was that risk explained to me. the only reason it came up was because i already knew. i still don't understand why it isn't standard pre-op counseling or pre-op check information, when me as a parent acknowledging the actual risk also put THE MEDICAL STAFF at ease because i conveyed that i had informed understanding as reason to not lie about giving my kid food.
"maybe some people will get nervous and refuse surgery" okay so they need more counseling about risks and anxiety, not less information in a way that actually does endanger their child or themselves!
Reblogging to save a life and teach medical professionals basic communication skills
see how easy it was to give that information!
I'm pretty sure if a parent goes against doctors orders and harms their kid, that parent is still responsible for their actions. Is this post implying otherwise?
how it feels to be slightly tipsy while someone explains the rules of a board game that takes months to understand
Any bets the fake protests for the verdict are already paid for and planned?
Potential jurors in the Karmelo Anthony trial said they couldn’t imagine giving him life in prison or “putting a brother in jail.”
Potential jurors in the Karmelo Anthony trial said they couldn’t imagine giving him life in prison or “putting a brother in jail” — despite the heinous murder he is charged with.
Prosecutors in Collin County, Texas, grilled candidates Monday on whether they would use Anthony’s age, race, or likeness to their own children when deciding whether he killed fellow teen Austin Metcalf in cold blood.
The trial of Anthony, accused of killing Austin Metcalf, is expected to last two weeks. He faces up to life in prison if convicted. He has p
Defense attorney Mike Howard started out asking prospective jurors a question: "If it's you and feel like your life is in danger, do you have the right to defend yourself?"
He asked the panel if they can set aside their biases.
"I'm not sure," one said.
"I read a lot about this case," another said. "The difference here is that I've been in similar situations. I can tell you how I handled it. I ran like hell."
Howard asked about the burden of proof always being on the prosecution, and panelists' opinions about when a defendant doesn't testify.
"I have followed this case a lot," another said. "It's hard to follow and not have a defendant say something and not hold it against them."
"I understand not speaking but I feel like if you were innocent you would be yelling it from the rooftops," another said.
"I would look for you to prove something to me," another said.
"If it were me and I knew I was not guity, wild horses couldnt' keep me off the stand," another said.
"Doesn't seem logical not to hear the other side of the story," another said. "Hard to say not guilty if I don't hear that person's side of the story."

If he's convicted this is going to come up as grounds for a appeal, no matter how properly vetted the people in the jury were.
Apparently the video evidence is incredibly danming so yeah no he’s definitely going to jail which all things considered it should be for life

ok so I looked it up, and it turns out they made a track out of PVC pipes, down a hill. The owner didn't realise PVC expanded in the heat, so on a turn the track just fell apart and the dude inside went over a fucking free way and into a swamp.
The funniest part is that the inspector was watching the whole time, and once the ball stopped he left without saying anything. Park management just shut it down then and there.
"The ball cleared a small hill, briefly going airborne, then zipped right across Route 94, the two-lane road splitting the park. Cars honked and slammed on their brakes. If there had been opposing traffic, Frank would have become part of a real-life game of Pong, volleying from one bumper to another.
Still in pursuit, we followed the ball toward a small lake in Motor World that had been earmarked for a fleet of tiny bumper boats for children. The area wasn’t open yet, but the empty boats were being tested and floated on the surface. The ball soared over the grass and smashed into several of them, scattering the others with rippling waves from the impact, which launched some of the boats several feet in the air.
Charlie and Ken waded into the water looking for the hatch. After some difficulty, they got it open. Charlie pulled Frank out by grabbing him under his armpits like a baby. Frank crawled up the bank, coughing and sputtering. He splayed across the grass as we all stared at the ball, which bobbed in the water like it was attached to a fishing lure.
We did not ask for the inspector’s report, nor did we ever hear of one being filed. Ken Bailey returned to Canada. The snow-makers cleared away the PVC. Told to dispose of the Bailey Ball, they rolled it into the woods, where it remained for many years."
I don't know that this beats the teeth story, but it's pretty great.
I'm morbidly curious
