I feel like I need to share this because idk if Europeans are familiar with the presence of Aldi in the US, but at least especially in my area theyâve been growing a lot recently. Like Aldi bought out some local failing grocery chains where I live (Louisiana) and have opened Aldis in all these somewhat rural communities and small towns, which for the record Iâm fine with
But as a result of this they are advertising a lot more in my area and also in many cases, the people in these areas have never been confronted with Aldi or any European grocery store. So the ads that Aldi is pushing out to its new US customer base feature a cowboy shopping at Aldi who is explaining to new Aldi customers how Aldi works. Like this cowboy is explaining you gotta put a quarter in the shopping cart and why there are very little name brands. A cowboy is how they want to reach their American customer base. Honestly, Tvyek is pretty miraculous. Itâs permeable to water vapor but not to water, itâs nearly impossible to tear, but can be easily cut. Itâs cheap and made entirely without binding chemicals. In addition to being used for wristbands, itâs used to wrap construction sites to keep out water during construction, for tear-resistant envelopes at Fed-Ex, coveralls for mechanics, and my wallet, actually.
Fun tip, though it looks like paper, Tyvek is plastic, and cannot be recycled with paper.

itâs a shame more vampire media doesnât pull from vampire bat behavior because theyâre such sweeties. they can only survive their incredibly specialized diet because bats will share blood with colony members that didnât find a meal! thereâs evidence that suggests the donors sometimes initiate this behavior themselves by approaching hungry bats! the colonies are mostly harems of females with a few males but theyâve been observed letting unrelated males in when it gets cold so they can all stay warm! cute little social critters!

Tan prepared to photograph the sunrise at the Gates of Heaven but the weather didnât cooperate. However, he didnât leave the location and stayed around for a bit, and nature presented him with this photo opportunity.
âWaking up at 3am to catch the sunrise at the famous Bali Gates of Heaven only to be disappointed as I was received by gloomy skies. Nonetheless I was soaking in the peaceful presence of the sacred ground, when suddenly Mt. Agung started smoking from afar. Standing in the middle of the gates is the local guardian of the Lempuyang Temple. Thankful to be at the right place at the right time to capture this once in [a] life time, incredible moment on camera.â

Could I suggest a picture of Dawntreader Texas Calboy? He is a beautiful male calico cat who is a chimera. He's also somewhat controversial among some cat fancy associations since he is a male cat with female colors, and some people are strangely transphobic towards him, despite him being a cat? There was even a rule implemented to keep him from competing in a cat show. If you look up his name, he made a few news articles.

I was once talking to my 75 year old Chinese dad in passing about a trans friend of mine not getting along with her family and he asked why and I said err, because she's trans, dad.
He asked: "Oh, was she the only son or something before *waves hand*?" and I was like, warily, no she has two brothers. And he responded with a great deal of confusion: "Then what's their problem?!?!"
Later on: "Anyway, even if she WAS the only son, that's not her problem, that's THEIR problem. They should have had more sons if they were going to be bothered about it."
Knowing what I know about chinese culture thereâs something so beautifully simple about his logic of âno son to carry on family name/look after them in old age/all the other stuff? Skill issue! Shouldâve had more sons! Shouldâve kept the family unit strong yourself! Blaming your daughter for your own failure of family planning is W E A K!â and then he learns there are more sons and it completely breaks his train of logic because if yes to more sons then why issue?? You have two others and youâre mad you donât have three?? Whack. Greedy.
I can already envision him as an ancient lord of a powerful house looking down his nose at the latest messenger bringing gossip from the house of his offspringâs friend and going ânow they have a daughter to marry into another family for powerful alliances and two sons to take over her former duties and somehow theyâre still complaining about their good fortune? They shall not survive the winter.â and then sipping his tea with all the grim satisfaction of someone about to watch an unnecessary soap opera of drama unfold from a safe distance or something
