one of the other reasons why i do not enjoy the juni ba adjacent portrayals of jason in the fandom with his dead eyes, white streak, autopsy scar deal is that. it comes off, to me, as trying to make trauma ornamental. little signposts to show the world that he was dead. whereas the horror of jason's story is that he was dead & the world moved on with no consequences & that he's screaming to be heard with no proof that he was once there & then dead other than his death certificate. bruce removed all traces of him. he wasn't even honoured like other fallen heroes. this isnt to say that all those hcs are inherently bad, i get that we want to make the blorbo look so specialcoolfunky but. to me, its a disservice to his character because he so clearly stands a representation of trauma that is invisible but must be heard. ppl can try to shut him up but he won't because just because they can't see it or try to erase it, doesnt mean it didnt happen.
[for pedantic purposes: yes im aware that the autopsy scar & white streak were popular wayyyy before juni ba's portrayal + iirc he only did the dead eyes & white streak thing while robles did the autopsy scar one right? i just wrote that for easiest way to evoke the image of the version of jason im trying to refer to]
