Happy 105th anniversary to the Communist Party Of China!
Starting from one of the poorest countries in the world in 1949, China emerged at the end of the Mao period as one of the six largest industrial producers in the world […] This economic development is exceptional compared with the colonial-supported industrialization of Western Europe and North America. […] The Communist Party [of China] had reunited the largest population on earth, modernized it, and ended the reoccurring years of famine that had haunted China for centuries, increasing grain production by three hundred percent. In 1949, life expectancy in China was 38 years. In 1970, it was 68. This accomplishment is undeniable.
It is as if [the Chinese] invite the world to join their celebration of the return of an ancient civilization, long oppressed and humiliated by imperialism. There is no doubt that the extensive development of the productive forces was not limited to snatching hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and starvation; it assured both their individual and national dignity, and has allowed them to greatly expand their horizons by looking at the vast country they’re part of and, beyond it, the whole world.
