maybe i shouldn't speculate/make assumptions and it's rude but

it's just been bothering me how i often saw ppl, even the ones that are allies, be like "so i've heard jax is meant to be trans fem i'm supportive of that happy pride!!! anyway, HE....."

and i know gooseworx said that any pronouns work. i know she said she meant for it to be a bit ambiguous

but i feel like. and that may just be me. that may not be true. but still. i feel like she's only saying this because she knew that there would def be people mad at their tumblr sexyman turning out to be a trans woman....... so to not start any more drama (cause god knows there's been enough) and to appease the ones she might potentially disappoint, she just said you can do whatever. call my transfem character a ''he'' see if i care, i just wanna move on, this show has hurt me enough

and i've already talked about it before, how the whole tadc situation is sad. and this makes me even more upset. cause i am not transfem nor i am a woman, but i am trans and i'm always yearning for that trans rep in media. and i feel like jax has been such a truly unique character in regards to transness, because it's not a story of someone who's already transitioned and their ups and downs, and it's not a traditional story of someone realizing they're trans and coming to terms with it. and i LOVE it for that. you really can only get that kind of stuff from an indie creator AND a trans person. everything else coming from corpo is sanitized. cause that's how they prefer to view transness (alongside everything else.) and even other independent creators might not be willing to take risks to be truthful, honest and authentic (i know the struggle.) ESPECIALLY when it comes to women and transfem individuals. misogyny is rampant. trans women are large targets of harassment and oftentimes scapegoats..... i understand why someone could want to avoid exploring such topics. which is why i say i get the feeling that gooseworx sort of not fighting to establish that jax is 100% a trans woman and letting people do whatever the fuck they want. cause she DID take the risk and man did it blow out of proportion. and she may not want to engage in this shit anymore

she did draw jax as a woman and used she/her pronouns. she did say that jax and ribbit would be homosexual. she did say that even tho she wanted it (jax's identity) to be open ended, she was bad at it, implying that the transfem narrative was still too obvious

again, not being a trans woman or a woman, i still clearly saw in the finale that jax WAS intended to be a woman. even if i didn't but trans women said they saw it, i'd be like oh i believe you. but i DID see it. and anyone who argues with it is just coping. "jax could be genderfluid with she/he/any pronouns" well sure that could be cool but again, i genuinely believe the transfem reading in the finale is the correct one
