and for my non-Finnish audience: Meta aka Facebook shut down the Threads account of a Finnish citizens' initiative, Digitaalinen Itsenäisyys (Digital Independence), which demands that Finland's critical infrastructure be hosted on EU/ETA-based platforms and exclusively under EU/ETA legislation the obvious conclusion is that they noticed the threat to their and their buddies' business in that and are trying to suppress it so if you know Finnish people, or are one, make some noise about this; and if you're a citizen go sign the initiative, it's the second link in the first post
