disability and class are inherently linked. the disabled are pushed into kind of a permanent underclass. poverty creates chronic illness and chronic illness creates poverty. there is no inherent conflct between the workers' struggle and the struggle against ableism. we are the same people, working through the pain or unable to work and thus plunged into destitution. out of sick days. testing blood sugar in breakrooms or unable to afford gluten free food.

Out of work paleontologists can take a page out of the Girl Scouts handbook and eat a chicken, clean the bones, encase them in a mud and plaster mix, then chip it back out. Which is legitimately how Girl Scouts earn their paleontology badge.

… I rebuilt my chicken by modeling muscles back onto the bones using clay, then putting skin on it and making it look like a dinosaur….

If you read thirty pages of a book and hate it, that’s a good analysis. Girl 1 literally said, “It sucked for these reasons, and I only got through 30 pages.” She was absolutely paying attention and trying to get it. But if all you get is a headache, fuck that book.

God I wish more people knew that you can stop reading a book.
