The Human Rights Campaign has declared the USA in a State of Emergency for the LGBTQIA+ community.

The below link has ways you can help, as well as a guidebook for how to get to safety, how to save money to get to a safe place, your rights with work etc.

They keep eating the same freaking food and it frustrates me so much! We can't have the "big scary light" on just lamps everywhere! Even when I try to find peace by doing stuff with them they just ignore me and do whatever they want. They can't even do the simplest of things like go with me to the grocery store every week! How do people expect them to survive in society??

seeing stuff like this is so upsetting because these terms were well known and widespread in the ace community but because of exclusionists many people stopped using terms like this because they felt uncomfortable and unsafe.

i loved these terms when i was in highschool, i loved the feeling of community, but i lost that because i didn’t feel comfortable openly and proudly calling myself asexual.

Going through all those blogs and seeing validation, learning more things about my newfound orientation was so incredibly as a questioning and unsure 15 year old. It’s devastating to me that this community has fallen quiet so much. So I started my tags, hoping to spread some more positivity and maybe inform people. This community is full of incredible people and the fact that so little of them remain, it heartbreaking.

Please, if you want to start exploring an identity for yourself (especially one exclusionists will try to tell you doesn’t “belong”), consider finding and talking to older people who’ve been in the community for a while - preferably IRL if that’s safe, or on dedicated community forums. 

Stop using fandom terms for real world political positions. Think for yourself. Stop ascribing to vague terms that change definitions in every potential context.

I associate with folks online who use the terms anti or proship to describe themselves, because it's unavoidable. And you know what? So many of them use opposite labels but have the same god damn moral compass, because these terms are meaningless. I am mutuals with folks who describe themselves as "antis" who are ok with most problematic media but just don't want to see shit like AI porn of child actors or don't want actual MAPs or Zoophiles in their communities. Understandable! That should be a normal god damn position! And most people who are self-described "Proship" that I associate with are just normal people who are against the right-wing sanitization of media. A good position to have!

The point is, the words proship and antiship have become meaningless as folks have stretched their usage beyond fandom discourse. I guarantee you if you are "proship" but have any personal boundaries, someone will can you an anti. If you are an "anti" but enjoy any kind of media that's slightly controversial, someone will call you a proshipper. These terms are useless.

I need people to stop trying to brush off old interests as being 'cringe' as soon as you lose interest, or worse: make it seem like it's imoral to like something that they themselves held so dear before.

Fandoms are meant to last for years and years, the moment content stops being created is the moment we truly thrive because we keep creating the content ourselves the way we love it and expand on the things that are already there for us.

I don't care if you lost interest on something, it's fine and normal even, but stop trying to blame and make fun of people who still do love the fandom and the content and the things we can create.
