I don't think I need to remind anyone what happened the last time gringos decided democracy in latinoamérica was useless. The rise of the right wing at least in my opinion and in regards to my country is not as much a failing of democracy as it is the result of economic intervention (sabotage) by the US and quite frankly embarrassing mistakes from the previous government. Democracy is not a failure so long as the alternative is a military dictatorship.
