The rice cooker ableism accusation is absurd bcs cooking rice in a pot vs the cooker is literally the exact same amount of time and steps lol. The only thing a rice cooker does is save space on the stove and makes marginally tastier rice.

Interesting i didn't know because i don't have one but i am curious about its steaming powers... and delicious rice powers... Either way it's just reheated dishwasher discourse. I am convinced that i am in hell and that the punishment for my sins is to relive dishwasher discourse forever.

Like at least dishwasher discourse has a point in that it can save water when used properly and it does significantly simplify a gruesome task. The problem with dishwasher discourse is that I cannot seem to point out a cultural difference without people jumping to misinterpret it as saying "owning a dishwasher/rice cooker/etc is secretly evil" which is a complete new sentence that i did not say. I was literally just saying how it's weird how the appliances that we consider basic necessities and those we consider luxuries vary between cultures.

But that's just too advanced for tumblr of course.

Not too much shade on the rice cooker 😔😔😔 it's very common here in Asia too. We eat rice for every meal so it's super common for every household to have a rice cooker.

I have to defend the honour of my wonderful rice cooker! But yeah I think it's strange to have like 1001 electronic appliances and no bidet. Hell you don't even need a fancy electric bidet you can jusy go for the old school hose verison lol.

Also I don't even understand the point of those coffee machies you put a pod in, like isn't that just instant coffee with extra steps???

in defense of the evil pollution coffee machine it just tastes better than instant coffee due to it being grinded really really fine and the temperature of the extraction WHATEVER IT'S DIFFERENT. but espresso or moka pot or french press all the way DO NOT give your money to nestle they should die. But it's very different from instant coffee

#it's like the equivalent of making expresso from already grinded coffee. but with pollution. also fresh grind tastes much better. everyone #who's serious about coffee knows this
