Loneliness is a lion lurking--when you let your guard down--he pounces. He digs his claws in lightly at first but as soon as you are aware of their presence you tend to fixate on it and the claws dig a little deeper. You feel the pain, the ache. (the ache for someone, anyone to be with. one who will listen, comfort, and simply exist with you) Desperate for an escape, you are willing to throw yourself down any rabbit hole you can find. But you’ve been there before, you’re wiser this time, you know better, you fight it and fail but you keep trying until the lion that is loneliness decides you are not worth the effort but you know the exact opposite is true. You are worth the chase, the energy, the time, the brain power, the effort. And then you realize you can never be fully alone on a planet filled with people feeling the same exact way...and you are okay.
