1. The History Nerds— People who like to geek about historical things and indulge in stuff like Hamilton and SIX and Les Miserables and Newsies and Anastasia I think counts too

2. The Dramatics— People who like something the feels like a plot focused on the adult life and indulge in stuff like Rent and Waitress and Tick Tick...BOOM!

3. High School Musical— People who thought High School would be just like the Disney movie and are now suffering so they indulge in stuff like Heathers and Dead Evan Hansen and Mean Girls and Be More Chill

4. The Jukeboxes— People who are really into pop (or the 70s) and indulge in stuff like Mamma Mia! and Grease (I know Grease isn't a jukebox musical but the songs play on the radio as pop) and Footloose

5. The Lin-Manuel Fanatics— I know you're out there. People who like Hamilton and In The Heights and 21 Chump Street and see Lin Manuel in anything else and just assume he's going to start rapping

6. Soundtrack/Podcast Musical Folks— People who care less about the stage play and more about the soundtrack (either because the stage play is unavailable or the soundtrack is better at bringing it back to life). These are people who like EPIC: The Musical and 36 Questions

And these different breeds tend to overlap. But in the end, they're still part of the wild species known as a theatre kid.

Having recently canceled my Spotify account (over the ICE recruitment ads, and I told them as much), have been assembling new music sources. And it's strange how much pleasure I've been getting out of MTV's 80s channel. (While it's deeply annoying to discover from the Wikipedia page that it'll be shutting down at the end of this year.)

Isn't it time you realized that dancing is nothing more than a form of expression or release? There's no need to be formal or cute about it. As a matter of fact I rather feel like expressing myself now. And I could certainly use a release!
