You dont have to like the smiths to wear big jumpers and leg warmers. You don’t have to be quiet and mysterious all the time. You don’t need to be a hopeless romantic or a hater. You don’t need to love reading always.
You can be an extrovert and snarky and summer toned and still wear brown pleated skirts with doc martens. You can like math better than English. You can not gaf about the piano or the smiths or poetry.
You do not need to be the entire persona to like the style there is no restrictions or disciplinary action that will be taken if you don’t have wired headphones.
I guarantee you will be a thousand times cooler if you’re being your authentic self while wearing pinteresty outfits you love. Please just take your leg warmers and piano skirts and move on.

Sixth grade class attend their teacher’s wedding

the only valid researchers are sixth graders tasked with a mandatory science fair who just decide to make some stuff. like a couple years ago i was a judge for a school’s science fair, and these kids just made moon shoes out of cardboard, and i asked their motive and they shrugged and were like “we thought it’d be cool”. this is the most valid form of research and no one can tell me otherwise
Jurassic Park
I have a very clear memory of being in 6th grade and going to see Jurassic Park with my two best friends. (Neither of whom I really "speak" with anymore but we are "friends" on Facebook but one of those is just to be polite because I don't like her anymore. None of this is relevant to the story but I want the youths to know it's okay to grow apart.)
I loved Jurassic Park. I read the book. I even read a bunch of other Crichton novels for no reason. At 12, mind you, exactly the time you should be reading Michael Crichton.
My particular fave was Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) who got to be a feminist, sort of, in an action movie. Something I hadn't seen before. I loved Ellie Sattler. I wasn't sure exactly what she did, except escape dinosaurs. But I wanted to be like her and look good in shorts like she did.
But as we are coming up on the release of Jurassic World: Dominion it occurs to me that I haven't seen any of the other Jurassic Park/World movies. Or maybe I have and they just made no impression.
But I think this is because Ellie Sattler was not in them. And she is in this new one.
So I feel like I should see it, but I have no idea what happens in the other movies. What do I need to know?
