This Fig and Rose Jam is a delightful combination of sweet figs and the subtle floral notes of rose water. It's perfect for spreading on your morning toast or adding a unique twist to your cheese platter.
Ingredients: 500g fresh figs, washed, stemmed, and chopped. 300g granulated sugar. 1/4 cup water. 2 tablespoons rose water. 1 teaspoon lemon juice.
Instructions: Add water, granulated sugar, and chopped figs to a heavy-bottomed pan. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook over medium heat, stirring from time to time, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Lower the temperature to a simmer and let it cook for thirty to forty minutes, or until the figs soften and the mixture thickens. Add lemon juice and rose water, and stir. Cook, stirring constantly, for a further five minutes. Take the jam off the stove and allow it to come to room temperature. Spoon jam into sterile jars, cover tightly, and keep chilled in a dark, cool place. Savor your homemade Fig and Rose Jam as a delicious condiment or on toast or scones!
