I'm devastated by this news, and I'm not even kidding. I've used this app practically my whole life; it's like part of my history has been erased, lol.
Of course, I've been looking for better alternatives to TV Time for a while now (I haven't found any), but I have some options that might interest those who need them. My biggest need is the ability to create unlimited and customizable lists, where I can move movies and series wherever I want. And also the possibility of changing the poster to aesthetically match my preferences.
Serializd is very good, even if the app isn't very intuitive. Still, it has a great community, and you can change the series posters. It's a nice-looking app, free, and unlimited lists. And with the traffic increasing now, they are making updates that I believe will make the app faster. The only problem is that it only has series, which has always been the case and never made me completely switch to this app.
I am currently testing Refract and Movie Paradise. Refract is still having some issues with updates, partly due to traffic, so I don't have an opinion on it yet. But it's exciting that it not only tracks movies and series, but also anime, and in the future, books and games. So I'll definitely test it more thoroughly once it stabilizes. The app is beautiful, so it's promising.
Movie Paradise is very beautiful, but I couldn't test it because I had to pay to import it, but the developers just informed me that starting tomorrow, importing will be free. And in the next update it will be possible to change the cover. One aspect that bothers me negatively is that many features are only available in the premium version, so if I really like the app, I might pay for the monthly subscription. I could even consider the lifetime version, but it's 100 reais, which is kind of exorbitant for an app.
A while back I paid for the lifetime version of Showly; it's very simple, but its community isn't very good. You can log in to movies and series, you can make lists, you can change the poster, and there's a very interesting feature: you can add the poster link and it will appear on your profile. It has some very basic statistics. It's more of a personal app than a community app. I use it occasionally; I'm not a big fan, but I'm not a hater either, My biggest problem was that it wouldn't sync between devices, so I had to keep exporting from my phone to the tablet. I don't know if this has been updated yet I haven't checked. (And it's possible to synchronize with Trakt.)
Trakt and Simkl didn't work for me. SeriesGuide didn't import my data from TV Time or Letterboxd at all.
Cinopsys is so similar to Showly, but better, and it made me sick. Because I paid to have the complete version of Showly, and in Cinopsys I have the same thing apparently for free. The only problem is that I can't import things from TV Time. They're simply not showing up, but it looks very good and is worth checking out.
Cinematique seems to be very interesting in fact, it has a lot of content. The only problem is, I can't import the file from TV Time. But it can also log series and movies, so from what I've seen nothing is limited. It has many functions, it's worth checking out if you like an app with multiple features. It's neither user-friendly nor simple.
These are all the ones I've tested so far... "tested it". The ones I'll continue using, as always, are Letterboxd and now Serializd because it already has all my history. Perhaps Refract or Movie Paradise will become my new main app. But nothing, NOTHING will be better than TV Time.
