Hi Honey🫶🏾 haven't seen you on my dash in a while so I just wanted to say I hope you're doing well! Much love to you ❤️
Hi, honestly, I think this is probably going to be it.
I got on tumblr my senior year of high school, 100ks of notes, likes, reblogs, follows, comments, and cat fights later and this year I’ll be 30. I think that’s enough.
I honestly was done a few years ago, hence the sharp decline in activity. I’m just a different person now and things here no longer serve me. Tumblr (you guys) got me through some very dark and lonely years of my life. I’ll forever be grateful. But I’ve got both hands on my life now and I don’t think I can go back to how things were.
Some of the people here changed the trajectory of my life. From paying for colleges courses to redoing my resumes to translating my work into 7 languages. I’m grateful. Truly.
And then there’s the fund. We raised probably over 100k over the course of 3 years for black people in need. It remains one of the things I’m most proud of. It roots me deeply in the belief that meaningful change only has to start with an idea.
When I first joined tumblr at 17, I never thought I had anything worth saying. Millions of interactions later and I know that not only is what I say valuable, but when I speak, people listen. You helped me find my voice. Thank you all for that.
I deleted the app 2 weeks ago but I would be remiss that after all this I would leave you so unceremoniously.
So I’ll take this next week to say goodbye and then I’m closing this chapter. If you have anything to say , good or bad, I’ll be here to listen until then.
Thank you truly, be well, and may God be with you all.
-Honey
