yesterday at work i was doing an exercise with an 11-year-old where she had to label european countries on a map and at one point she asked whether a certain country was lithuania and i said no and she said "is there still lithuania?". because her only exposure to lithuania is during history class so she was like actually i'm not sure that's still a thing... much to ponder
