It’s kinda crazy to me how the among us show has been out for like a day and people have already misgendered the entire cast. Like gender quite literally isn’t a thing in the show. Not one character is referred to by any pronouns other than they/them and people still don’t use the right pronouns💔
to be clear: there is no explicit sex in the among us show. there is however a naked (as in, the crewmates take off their backpacks and accessories, and their backs are blurred) cuddle pile that can be interpreted as an orgy. and the crewmates are canonically sexless so who knows what's on their backs to warrant the censor bars.

both are shows tied to extremely popular properties (among us and bts) that could have been massive if they were given any proper advertising, but instead they were quietly dropped on a streaming service with little fanfare. the among us show is definitely doing a lot better, though, which i'm happy about! i will forever be upset about what happened with begins ≠ youth because that show was so freaking good and we're probably never getting a season two 😭

Genuinely though it is so frustrating that nonbinary rights and exorsexism are not treated seriously at all, even from within the queer community. It sucks that there's not even an option for an X gender marker in so many countries, including in more progressive queer-friendly ones. It sucks that if enben want to get gender affirming care that we're advised to lie about our gender (or lack thereof) in favour of a more binary trans identity lest we jump through a million extra hoops on top of the million already in place for binary trans people to prove we're serious in order to get the care we want/need. It sucks that in most cases we're still forced into some kind of binary and I wish that the issues we deal with were acknowledged more.

Every Kill Explained (Or at least my guess for how every kill was done)
Spoilers for the entire show! Watch it, It's good. Especially watch it if you liked Infinity Train.
Green told us that Orange only killed Lime, so I'm gonna assume that Green killed everyone else. I do find it most likely to be true, Green's manipulation and acting abilities are good.
1. WHITE
White likely stayed in nav, since they were used to doing nothing during emergencies.
Green slipped away between these two shots to kill White
Okay I have no idea why White came from the bottom door and not the right door (which would be closer to nav). I think this was just done for the scene.
2. BLUE
This hallway is right outside of security, so Green would be able to see when Purple has exited the cameras so Green can kill Blue unseen.
I'm unsure if Green would have used the reactor vent or the security vent. Ingame, Green would have to use the electrical or security vent to get to medbay, so Green could've walked into security after Purple and used the vent in there.
but Lime literally vents from cafeteria to reactor in the intro so it could just be that all the vents are all connected to each other in this version
3. LIME
okay. we all saw the kill. Lime obviously randomly exploded for no reason.
Ok but actually Black and Cyan went to have emotions, leaving Orange alone to find Lime.
BUT! I will say that Green didn't kill Lime because Red had just left Green in reactor!!! If a body turned up in reactor and Green was the last person seen in there, that'd be suspicious.

4. CYAN
Green slipped through the suspicious newly placed vent during Purple's backstory stuff, leaving their crewmate body behind. Green took the vent to electricity, killed Yellow, then slipped back to o2.
5. YELLOW
evidence likely planted by Green during this sequence NEXTTT
6. BROWN
hey Green you're looking suspiciously saggy over there. Almost like an empty costume.
anyways I think Green exited their crewmate body, used the cafeteria vent nearby to vent to the Kitchen, then killed Brown.
7. Black
Everyone was separated, letting Green kill Black alone.
Also there's a hint that Green was the imposter! Black relaxes when they see Green. Green is probably the most trustworthy crewmate right now, thanks to their innocent lil intern act. If Black saw anyone else, it's more likely they would've reacted with suspicion at a potential imposter.
is incredible how faithfully they adapted amogus without falling into the trap of trying to ground it too hard and give it so much lore and plausibility to the point that the original game feels like a suggestion. this is a silly cartoon world that works under the same kind of absurd silly logic as the game.
i really appreciate that they didnt try to get too clever with it. everything that would happen in a typical game of amogus happens here. there are emergency meetings, the characters argue about whos the impostor, people get falsely expelled feom the ship, they have to balance wether they investigate who the alien is or wether they spend time performing their tasks. is kind of like the dnd movie in that regard.
also i love how all the characters are allowed to be both a bit smart and a bit dumb. the captain, red, he is supposed to be an incompetent leader but they do show the ocassional moment of good thinking. purple who is supposed to be this jaded voice of reason is allowed to be kind of silly and dumb at times. they are all funny little guys. i love when they are all together as a group and you can tell they have a bit of a pack instinct going on, how they stick together and pile on top of each other and such. (theyre honestly super freaking cute and now i get those comics about girls who get a bit too obsessed with amogus guys, they ARE extremely adorable)
also another thing about this show. its a lot more visually experimental than it seems at first, theyre constantly doing weird unnecessary stuff like having one character be live action during a scene for no reason in particular, switching to VR pov shots, making the animation deliberatly shittier for a couple of scenes. very reminiscent of early spongebob, i love it when cartoons play with the medium like that for no other reason besides getting silly with it.
also, maybe im dumb, but i felt it was actually a mystery who the impostor was. in hindsight it was obvious but as i was watching i was genuenly wondering who could it be.
just a really good, solid short little show. the best possible adaptation of the game that could exist.
warning to others watching the among us show on the internet archive for some reason (at least for me) episode 10 is where episode 2 should be so js skip that until u get to episode 9

The Among Us show was actually fire. Well, that's to be expected since it was created by Owen Dennis, but they took a memed-out, basically dead game and made it into an interesting TV series that actually cares about its characters and has a lot of emotional scenes and social commentary. It could have been a "LOL so quirky" type of show but they made it dramatic and heartfelt without getting too pretentious.
The characters are all well-done; from Yellow and Brown's sweet bond, to Red and Purple's messy history, to Lime being the crazy guy who no one believed until it was too late, it's all so great.
I think we know why Paramount sat on this....because they're basically MIRA Corporation
