It had been almost a week since Shiro found out about Adamâs death, and he didn't really know how he felt.
He felt⌠hollow, like someone had carved out all his insides and then sealed him back up, leaving him an empty shell among the living. It was a feeling that left him empty and numb, too tired to comprehend his own emotions.Â
He hadnât told Keith yet about Adamâs death, and heâs not sure if he even wants to. The thought of having to tell him about how Adam supposedly got blown up by the Galra made his stomach roll in uneasiness.Â
Even after having been alive well over a year, Shiro felt exhausted and overwhelmed by even the smallest things again. A brightly lit room or a slightly bigger crowd left him gasping for air as his heart rate picked up out of nowhere.Â
Like right now, as Shiro clutched the sink so hard he was afraid it might crack. It felt like his heart was being squeezed, so tight and painful.Â
Breathe Takashi, breathe.
But he canât. His lungs wonât work and it feels like heâs drowning. Is he shaking? Why is he shaking?
Is someone watching him? It feels like there are people all around him, surrounding him and coming closer and closer. Why are they here? The people only keep coming closer to him, making him feel trapped.Â
His knees give out and he crashes to the floor, curling in on himself. Heâs still shaking. Is it cold in here, or was that just his imagination?
Breathe Takashi. Youâre safe.
Who was the owner of the voice in his head? Was it his own, or was that also just his imagination?Â
He still canât breathe, no matter how much air he tries to force into his lungs. Itâs painful. So, so painful.Â
Who was calling out his name? Shiro tried to look up but he couldnât, his body seemed to refuse no matter how hard he tried. He just kept trembling, his body tense and shaking violently.Â
âTakashi? Do you hear me? Everythingâs okay, youâre safe.â
There was a hand on his back, rubbing up and down, obviously meant to be a soothing gesture.Â
From the second chapter of Skyfall (formerly titled whereâs my love (iâll find my way back to you),, that former title was a disaster)Â
