Many writers post their fiction here on tumblr. I've done that a few times and had pretty good luck with it. People are generally kind and enthusiastic here if they like your stuff, and it can be spread through reblogs for practically eternity. It might be hard to find when specifically searching for it through tags you know you used, though.
Ao3 is known for fanfic but also allows original work. It's actually a pretty amazing writing platform, as it's an archive with great search features, easy-to-use sharing, and it has a huge userbase. This means you connect with your target audience easily, it doesn't stop getting clicks two days in (how the search functions creates longevity, basically), AND you won't ever lose it (unlike on tumblr, where it might disappear into the void never to be seen again...). Granted, I've haven't posted original work on there yet, but my fics found way more of an audience than I expected, and I've read a lot of great original work there, too. Quality shines on Ao3, unlike our next option...
Wattpad is supposedly for original work and not necessarily fics, but Wattpad really sucks these days, and I would NOT recommend it. But there are a lot of readers on there.
You could always make your own website, if you feel like it.
There are blogging platforms like Medium which are quite popular lately, but I haven't used them myself. You may or may not have success there.
I've seen a lot of people recommend smashwords, but this is geared towards "e-publishing", so it might not be good for unfinished work, unless you were going to post each chapter as a separate story in a series. (They allow you to post it for free, but...consider that I, for one, would buy it :3)
WritersCafe still exists... the people who like this platform are Very Enthusiastic about it. Hit or miss.
FictionPress is like fanfic.net but for original fiction. Therefore, after hearing it described that way, I proceeded to not look into it at all.
Booksie is like if an alternate universe wattpad and a slightly shitter Ao3 had a child and asked a tired healthcare administrator to design the site. It looks like 2010 for webnovels and yet corporate. This doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.

Context for the above: The chiru/赤鱬 ("red ru fish") is a creature from Chinese folklore/mythology described in the Nan Shan Jing ("Classic of the Southern Mountains") as a human-headed fish. It is described as basically fish-form but having a human face, and issuing sounds like the mandarin duck. Eating it purportedly prevented scabies or itchy skin.
