contrary to popular belief not everyone has an innate sense of internal gender or care to have one or seek a name for it, some people go their whole lives without questioning their occupation in one of two gender roles, but for some people, if pressed, they donât feel that internal sense of âi am a womanâ or âi am a manâ, and in that case i feel the switch over to transgender vs cisgender relies on active identification of a gender other than the one they were assigned. if someoneâs like âidk dude I just work hereâ then thatâs valid
#i would describe my gender as not exactly âidk dude i just work hereâ #more likeâŚ..when someone assumes you work somewhere that you donât #but you know how to help them so you do it anyway #my gender is wearing a red shirt at a target
These are the best tags
A portion of people in the notes are like âbut that makes you trans. Thatâs called being agenderâ and another portion of people are going âthis is how the majority of cis ppl feel and itâs NOT agenderâ and personally I feel like both of them are missing the point here. Yes a lot of people identify as agender because of this feeling. Yes a lot of people with this same feeling still identify as cis. These are not mutually exclusive experiences and it doesnât mean the agender people are secretly cis or the cis people are secretly agender. It just means they have very similar experiences of gender that they choose to conceptualize and label differently, and neither of them are mistaken or wrong to do so.

Youâre completely correct. Out of my way, able-bodied losers. Fuck you.
Can I be honest with yall I don't want to hear SHIT against cishets at pride this year
"But it's not FOR them!!!" The biggest military power in the world belongs to a christofascist nation overseen by a felon found guilty of 34 federal crimes and has greenlit a gestapo with more direct funding than the entire military of Canada for the purpose of ethnic cleansing. Let Hetero Jessica throw some biodegradable glitter at a municipal parade
At this point if anyone is trying to exclude anyone benignly pro-queer from a pro-queer space I'm just going to assume you're a fed or something idk like something something destabilize the movement from within or whatever
I am making a VERY big point of the Ally flag in all my pride stuff at work.
Feel awkward about people maybe thinking youâre queer but still want to clearly signal âqueers are okay with meâ? SURE. LOVE IT. HEREâS YOUR WEIRD FLAG.
Donât fucking at me about allies right now, they are ALSO actually getting fucking killed over us. Take your puri-gay shitty tent somewhere else mine is great with peopleâs cishet friends and relatives showing up to have our backs.
(âbut what if they -â shitty behavior is shitty behavior I donât care if you INVENTED queer sex, if youâre acting like a douche iâll kick you out. wanna act decent and accept the premises of queer coexistence and freedom, cool, iâm not judging you for feeling ok with the gender title they gave you in the delivery room or being attracted to people with the other standard issue title, grab a pop).
Agreed, and also what the hell is is going to take for people to recognize that there are cishet queers? Intersex, asexual, and aromantic people are queer, it's exclusionary to be using cishet as a synonym for nonqueer.
You, you get it.
I'm sorry we are under violent attack. Is this person willing to stand beside me and take fire or prepare the bunkers or protect the wounded? GREAT. Here's your armband so we know who you are.

Reblog this post :) Especially if youâre on mobile, youâll lose the post if you click the link without thinking. Take a note from your elders before you
Interesting note: It definitely uses whoever you're following now, not at that date. Even the 2020 one includes a lot of people I was absolutely not following yet in Feb 2020, which is actually kind of cool, I can see what they were reblogging from this fandom before I got into it.

When I started Stargate, I got the part, I was sooo thrilled to have this incredible character, to be playing someone in the military and I had so much respect, to be playing someone whoâs so smart and so liberated and⌠I thought, âYes!â
I had two weeks to move from Toronto to Vancouver. I flew out there, I had my first wardrobe fitting. And one of the things that was in⌠the thing that was in the wardrobe room was a very low-cut tank top and a push-up braâŚ
And I turned to the costume designer - whom Iâve worked with since, whoâs wonderful - and I said, âWhat⌠What is this?â And she said âWell, they wanna see what you look like in it.â And I said, ââŚbut this⌠nobody in the military, no captain in the US airforce would wear this⌠while her male counterparts are wearing crew neck T-shirts and⌠I c⌠I⌠I canât do it!â And she said, âWell, they just wanna see what you look like and take a picture andâŚâ
I was like ââŚâ
And I panicked because I thought I have just been given this amazing opportunity - I didnât know it would last 10 years but I knew it was gonna be a kick-ass show - and I was like⌠âI canât do itâŚâ
And I started to cry and I said, âYou have to go upstairs and tell them Iâm not doing it. And if it means that they recast the part then recast the part but youâve cast a smart woman and youâve cast somebody whoâs never tried to get a job based on her looks or her body. Iâve always played strong, smart women, I⌠I canât do it. So if they wanna recast the part I totally get it but Iâm not playing that version of this character.â
But Iâm saying this while Iâm blubbering because Iâm suffering that Iâve just lost maybe the best job of my careerâŚ
And so she said, âOkayâ and I said, âIâm sorry, Iâm sorry, Iâm sorry, Iâve never been difficult, I donât⌠but I canât do that!â
So she went upstairs and she came back down and she said, âOkay, no problem.â And I said, âOkay, so whatâs my costume?â And she said, âWellâŚâ And I said, âJust⌠What are the guys wearing?â
So she handed me a black T-Shirt and the BDUs, which is what my character would wear in the field with her male counterparts, and thatâs where we went from there.
But that to me was the defining moment ofâŚ
And I still cry about it because I still remember that young woman on the verge of breaking into the⌠new something big, being petrified that she was gonna loose it, but⌠I knew that I couldnât play the TNA version of Sam Carter.
And to the powers-that-be, great credit, I donât think that it was Brad or Jonathan or Rob or any of those guys who were asking for it, I think it might have been, you know, much higher up. But to their great credit they were like, âNo, absolutely not. Sheâs⌠okay, whatever sheâs comfortable in.â
And⌠thank God that they went that route. But that was⌠that was one of the defining moments.

This phrase has already entered my vocabulary re: media criticism where like. The viewer has a concrete view of what they expect a story to be based on the tropes and cliches they're used to seeing together, and when that doesn't happen, they judge it as a failed depiction of what they assumed it was going to be instead of judging it as what it actually is.
"This show is problematic because the hero didn't kill the villain at the end": When does he steal the bread?
"These two characters who were close friends throughout the series don't kiss at the end! What the fuck?": When does he steal the bread?
"This feels like it's missing a conclusion! Like, the protagonist does bad stuff and because of a critical decision he makes as a result of his major character flaws, meets tragedy in the end! Where's the part where he learns better and brings is love back from the dead and becomes a good guy and gets a happy ending?": When does he steal the fucking bread??
I heard this out as "When criticizing something, you must judge it for what it is, not what it isn't"
#this is why so many of us urge people to get a wider diet of stories
since itâs pride month, throwback to this beautiful cover and this wholesome interaction between two icons
When you get more objective about the way nature is & away from weird anthropomorphic carnivore slander it is a little funny when the baby sea turtles hatch and every other animal in like a ten mile radius goes "oh fuck yum one million mini sliders"
[ID: a screenshot of the original post's tags that read, "#real turtleheads know this is a play on sliders (turtle emoji) which are a type of terrestrial turtle. but it's also tiny hamburgers #which seems apt. #this has been another episode of Joke Explainer" /end ID]
Keeping these actually. Necessary footnote for this post
Watching a jaguar casually walk up to an adult sea turtle headed back to the water after laying her eggs and eat it like why am I in my sea turtle violence era and why are they like this. Adult sea turtles aren't especially easy to eat in the water they'll swim around with shark bites taken out of them like they're just chillin. And then on land they just kinda
Jaguar watching a sea turtle on the beach: oh fuck yum 100 pound slider
Also today I learned that since the jaguar scares off other smaller predators it's actually good for the sea turtle population if there are jaguars there. Cause less babies get eaten by Everything Else. I'm gonna be honest I didn't even consider that a jaguar could be on the beach
Every other animal in like a ten mile radius: I'm gonna be honest I didn't even consider that a jaguar could be on the beach
get off the beach OP, there's a jaguar there

itâs not weird to find fanfiction from 2021, or 2017, or 2014 that youâve never read and actually taking your time to read it.
itâs not weird to love it and comment and leave kudos because the author will probably still see it someday and it will make them happy.
itâs not weird to like said authorâs work so much that you want to go look for other fics from them.
itâs not weird to go through the authors profile and look for other fics from the ships you like (or maybe some that youâll give a chance because you liked the author) and maybe bookmark them for later.
itâs not weird to read these other fics and like them too and comment on them because you actually like them and you want to let the author know.
itâs not weird to read fanfiction from 5, or 8, or 10 years ago and actually enjoy and engage with it because itâs perfectly normal to relate to something thatâs less than a decade old!
letâs stop treating fanfiction like theyâre instagram posts that stop being interesting in 24 hours! fanfiction is NOT social media, fanfiction is art!!! and art doesnât get old in one day, one year, or even a decade!
read fanfiction! write fanfiction! comment on fanfiction! letâs not let fanculture die people!!!!!
