for people out of the loop:

Nigel Farage is the leader of Reform UK, a far right party who are currently in the process of a serious bid to become the UK government. they are just straight up evil.

Count Binface is an intergalactic space warrior with a bin on his head. he likes to run as a novelty candidate in general and mayoral elections. a big thing he likes to do is run as a candidate against the incumbent prime minister:

Anyway, in brief:

Nigel Farage is currently in the midst of a big scandal about his finances

He has decided to deal with this by 1) making a show of nobly resigning from parliament and then 2) immediately running in the resulting by-election

He has stated that he is letting 'the people' judge his actions and implied that if he wins that will prove that he has been exonerated in the court of public opinion

His goal was presumably to get a big resounding win over the other parties, proving that The People still love him.

the other parties have thus far decided that this is a 'vanity election' and, well, there is one very easy way to ensure that he will not beat any of them, and that is simply not to play.

and as a result the only person who has so far confirmed they are running against him is Count Binface. no matter the outcome this makes Nigel Farage look like, u know, a fucking clown.

This is not an exaggeration. Your download speed would slow down to the point where Windows would make this kind of absurd estimate, and you’d sigh and leave the room for a while (because you couldn’t use the computer while it was doing this for fear it would crash and lose all your progress) and then you’d come back in 40 minutes and maybe it would now say 52 years or maybe it would say 3 minutes, who knew, not Windows.

Hey Jess!! It’s totally okay if this is not something you’re comfortable giving advice on, but I’m also not sure where else to start: I think my husband might be a girl. I don’t think he knows.

He identifies as nonbinary and says he just doesn’t care about gender, but it seems very likely to me that he is a woman either in denial or just unrealized. If it turns out he’s happy with his identity then I’ll leave it there, of course! But I don’t think that he is happy. How can I tell him this in a way that he will take seriously and legitimately consider? I’ve suggested exploring his gender further and looking into hormones and he’s shrugged it off, not in a way that suggests he’s uninterested, but as if it just hasn’t sunk in that it’s something he can do.

I’ve read perspectives from trans women about the journey requiring a lot of radical self-acceptance that they themselves had to initiate. I know I can’t do that part for him, but I also can’t just not intervene when he is so clearly unhappy with himself.

Even if you post this with no answer so your followers could chime in, I’d really appreciate any perspective I can get on this. Thank you. 💜

I love that you’re so accepting and open to your partners identity but I think that you may need to take a step back and let your spouse move at his own pace.

You’ve made sure he knows that you’d support him no matter what and you’ve vocally expressed your support for exploring gender. That’s huge and that’s amazing.

Gender exploration can take a long time and it’s something a person needs to do at their own pace. If your husband really is a trans woman, then he will come out when he is ready.

Seriously if you are at all interested in Godzilla, then you should check out some of the books being published right now. The first wave of Kai Sei era trade paperbacks are out, and they’re incredible. (I’m literally obsessed with Starship Godzilla)

A Love for Ignorance

I want to make it clear that I adore the Archie Sonic comics, but this LSD story is just killing me. It’s right on the heels of a story I really enjoyed (Super Sonic, Hyper Knuckles and Turbo Tails vs Mammoth Mogul), and it has the energy to f a government mandated drug PSA.
