ADHD Medication information sheet
I have been struggling
For a long fucking time
with why my adderall was having such uneven effects and varying efficacy
and the weird pattern of what made it work and not work and if it was building up in my system or not
and fucking nobody told me I shouldn’t drink a glass of Kool-Aid to take the pills with
or eat fucking Pop-Tarts or Life cereal
this is the most useful information I have ever received from tubr and it seems to be confirmed by several other places upon searching
so this actually should be spread like wildfire like actually
Me reading this realizing tunglr dawt kom gave me more information about my medication than MYDOCTORRRRRSSSSSS MYYYYYYYY FUCKENNNNN DOCTORSSSSS PLURAL MULTIPLE DOCTORSSSSSSSS
Reblogging to spread this ridiculously important info
Generally speaking, your doctors actually may not know these things. This is the kind of stuff to ask your pharmacist about.
Hey, what the actual fuck?
WHAT THE ENTIRE FUCK
I would have been taking it with a glass of cranberry juice every fucking morning. Thanks @letoasai
So that’s why you have to take your meds WITH WATER ONLY. ONE GLASS. ONE WHOLE GLASS OF WATER. (yes I’m a pharmacist)
This is why I have my medication and a bottle of water on my bedside table. My alarm is set for 4:30AM to take the medication, then sleep for another hour (I’m a morning person). By then, the medication is in my system, and I can safely have breakfast.
This post is what informed me about citric acid/vitamin c. The warning label on the bottle says only to take it on an empty stomach, do not eat for at least one hour, take it only with water. My pharmacist told me medication in general should only ever be taken with water, never juice or soda or whatever because many meds react poorly to vitamin c/citric acid. Some meds need to be taken with food or milk (if it says take with milk, you can take it with food), but that list is short.
I asked my doctor about this, and she had no idea. Nor did anyone else working at the clinic. This isn’t something they’re informed about because it’s the speciality of pharmacists.
