learn from yesterday, live for today

medicines are fun it's like take this substance that does something to your body. and then it does something to your body. awesome

nipdate (nipple update) the scab on my right nipple has come off and it looks a little funky i'm not gonna lie. there's a depression in the middle of the nip and some gunk BUT it is more shallow today than when the scab came off yesterday so i think i'm just gonna cover it with a plaster and let it do its thing.

now that most of the scabbing is gone the worst part of recovery is not resisting the urge to pick at my skin, it's that i can't sleep on my side. i have not had a truly comfortable night's sleep in 3 weeks 👎

i would pay real money to be able to listen to purple rain for the first time again

i have been waxing poetic to everyone i talk to about how happy i am practically nonstop since i woke up from surgery but it still hits me every time i look down at my chest that this is the best thing that's ever happened to me. the bruising has faded and the majority of the scabbing is gone and it looks so good. i can dress myself pretty normally now which means i can wear the tshirts i packed that i was extra excited to wear, and now i look in the mirror and see the version of me that always existed in my head. i guess it'll take time to get used to it and eventually it won't be so new but i'm enjoying the novelty and the amazement at the fact that it really happened and i really look like myself now.
