I'm usually lukewarm on "fandom + text posts" but the thing about M*A*S*H is that Hawkeye literally just talks like that. The posts will work for the other characters but so often I will see a post pinned on a screencap of Hawkeye and I can so clearly envision him saying the whole thing, with only minor edits for slang/cadence, if any in the first place. I don't know how to explain it if you haven't seen the show, but I know if you have you'll understand intuitively. Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce was born to be a tumblrina and instead he was stuck in Korea a hundred years ago.

An 1800s court room drama involving a printing press that has struck gold by making a deck of playing cards that features quite charming illustrations of local Dames Of An Occupation, in whatever outfit, state of (un)dress and pose they wished to be painted in. Some of them are remarkably creative - one of them is easily recognised despire of not having her face visible at all, because nobody else would be both flexible enough to achieve that position and shameless enough to pose in it.
The card deck company has been taken to court by a local self-appointed guardian of public morality, who insists that despite of no laws being broken in the creation of the deck, such lewdness should nonetheless be deemed illegal. He does not care that the models were paid well for their portraits and gave their full consent to their use, nor that they are in fact satisfied with getting free advertisement from them. He does not care about the rights nor consent of sex workers, he simply wants the cards gone.
The judge eventually deems that the cards are indeed too indecent for public sale and distribution, and the artist who designed the cards agrees to re-draw them according to the limitations dictated by the court (which sadly include prohibiting the aforementioned impressively flexible pose), on the grounds that no additional limitations are given retroactively.
It takes a year for a new card deck to be drawn and go into print, and it doesn't take long before the same people are in the courthouse again. This time the Defender Of Public Modesty is suing the card print company for personal slander, as every single drawing in the new art of the corrected deck features a man who looks unmistakably like himself, harrying and bothering the ladies of the previous deck portraits, whether by judging skirt lengths with a measuring tape, covering an exposed bosom with a folding fan, or placing a tablecloth over the infamously impressive no-knickers-hand-stand.
The Morality Warrior is enraged by this distribution of slanderous images of himself interacting with any women of questionable repute. The judge agrees that drawing an entire series of portraits of this guy harrassing these women does count as spreading false accusations of him, and agrees that the second deck should also be taken out of rotation. The artist who drew both decks consents to making a third version with the same conditions as before: no additional retroactive rules. No depictions of women in lewd poses, and no depictions of the man who sued them posing with sex workers.
The third deck is once again taken to court, as it depicts the exact same uncensored themes, outfits and poses as the first deck, except this time instead of the local Ladies Of Occupation, every card instead depicts the Public Morale Defender. The print company had to hire a trapeze artist from a passing circus to pose as reference for the most famous subject, as no other man could be found who could do a hand stand like that.
The judge agrees that these cards, also, are slanderous, and before the lawyer of the card print company can start negotiating for new conditions on what counts as "acceptable" replacement, the judge announces that they should just go back to making and selling the first deck they started with. And also if he ever has to see any of the people involved in his fucking court room again, over this same damn subject, he is sentencing everybody involved to death, by hanging, including himself.

i think what made count the rice so awesome (if ominous) is that it harkened back to game changer’s fundamentals which is the only way to win is by learning and the only way to learn is by playing. i love the game changers where they get no instructions and it’s more puzzle based because that’s what season 1 game changer was really founded on.
Usually the gag rewards don't really work for me. Like it feels better to have no reward or just do a statue like they do for Make Some Noise than something that's barely a joke.
But "Winner winner" "Chicken dinner!!!" and then handing Ify a rotisserie chicken is top notch comedy. Like the comedy gods put their hands on the scale to make sure the giant jacked guy won the protein prize.
When Count The Rice first started, I was very confused how this could last for 50 minutes while being funny. Then Ify went to Room 2, and I thought I understood how it was going to go, but still didn't know why the episode was so long.
Then came The Grants.

I keep thinking about this moment because it was really sweet and unprompted. Catherine was so excited to be there and wanted so badly to do a good job (she did a GREAT job with maybe the hardest episode yet) and to get a little praise from someone with as much Dropout success as Ify? You can't buy an ego boost like that!
She also really IS good at Game Changer because there's no damn way I would've ever figured out the trick, let alone as fast as she did. Also the fact she instinctively just gave away everything she learned to help other constestants. I hope they bring her back for a less chaotic episode soon.
podcasts could have been so good but they decided to make the main genres True Crime and Men Talking. shut up shut up the public yearns for audio dramas
i do appreciate how tumblr LOVES podcasts that aren't what most people think of when they think "podcast." you people love strange and terrible things happening to queer & confused characters, and i respect that
god please inject audio dramas directly into my veins

There was a trend in the 40s and 50s (not sure if it predates that or if there are places that still do it) where you could get your child’s baby shoes cast in bronze or dipped in bronze and use them as keepsakes or have them mounted as bookends. Better than the resin slop of the modern day in my opinion. My great grandma had my grandpa’s baby shoes made into bookends ends because she loved him very much and he was her only child and it is honestly really cute. My mom got her dad’s baby shoe bookends when she moved out and they were in my living room my entire childhood, she had explained how they were grandpa’s shoes covered in bronze and I thought that was cool.
Then I went to an art museum and saw bronze busts of people and my tiny child brain thought the person’s dismembered head and shoulders were in there…
Haha! Not where I thought this was going 😃😭🙏

“i just really thought that clown was gonna be my girlfriend” directly after the gayest conversation I’ve ever heard….peppering in the “and an owl dropped off this letter for me??” in the final quarter with the biggest shit eating grin…..ally beardsley the comedian that you are. my life to them in service for real
idk best part of count the rice is every time a player would make a joke in the grant room and thirty white guys would laugh uproariously no matter how good the joke was. truly so full of whimsy and joy
