PSA: For fan works, reblog and like from OP
Tumblr is rolling out a new reblog/notes system that completely disregards creators. In their new system, they're taking a twitter-style approach where reblogs will have their own notes that DO NOT contribute to the original post's notes.
Because of this, creators will no longer be able to see an accurate display of likes/reblogs/etc. This is completely altering the way feedback and responses to works are going to be received on this website.
If you come across a fan work that you enjoy, please take the extra step to go to OPs original post, and leave your comment/like/reblog there. Or go one step further and send an ask to OP directly to tell them what you liked!
I really hope Tumblr staff reverses course and reverts to the original reblog system for the sake of the large base of creators who use this site to share their works, but until then, please be considerate and make sure the creators here see/feel the love.
it’s not weird to find fanfiction from 2021, or 2017, or 2014 that you’ve never read and actually taking your time to read it.
it’s not weird to love it and comment and leave kudos because the author will probably still see it someday and it will make them happy.
it’s not weird to like said author’s work so much that you want to go look for other fics from them.
it’s not weird to go through the authors profile and look for other fics from the ships you like (or maybe some that you’ll give a chance because you liked the author) and maybe bookmark them for later.
it’s not weird to read these other fics and like them too and comment on them because you actually like them and you want to let the author know.
it’s not weird to read fanfiction from 5, or 8, or 10 years ago and actually enjoy and engage with it because it’s perfectly normal to relate to something that’s less than a decade old!
let’s stop treating fanfiction like they’re instagram posts that stop being interesting in 24 hours! fanfiction is NOT social media, fanfiction is art!!! and art doesn’t get old in one day, one year, or even a decade!
read fanfiction! write fanfiction! comment on fanfiction! let’s not let fanculture die people!!!!!
dear followers, please be advised, if you ship wincest or any other potentially problematic ship i don't give the slightest shit go with god who the fuck cares lol.
i call this phenomenon "god hates me"

Reblog to endorse all evil things in this world
imagine me as the little devil sitting on your shoulder, whispering in your ear, “write more fucked up fanfiction”
BROOOO
imagine the kids had left both billy and steve at the byers’ house post-fight. billy waking up hours later to steve sprawled on the couch, squashes the petty complaint about how the kids moved steve to a more comfortable surface and just let him lay there on the floor like a sack of potatoes. he walks over to the fridge because “fuck, i need a beer”, and the second he pulls the fridge door open, a demodog’s corpse flops out and lays at his feet. and billy’s tired. he nudges it with the toe of his shoe, shakes his head like, “fuck this shit” and continues rummaging through the fridge for a beer.Â
I’m sorry it’s rushed (I just needed a distraction)
DISCORD IS IMPLEMENTING GLOBAL AGE VERIFICATION REQUIREMENTS. GO YELL AT THEM ABOUT IT.
Source: Discord's official statement
Ethical problems of surveillance aside, Discord cannot be trusted with your information. There was already a data breach of 70,000 users' government IDs in October of 2025.
The support email listed on Discord's website for contact does not work. Instead, flood their system via submitting support requests via this form.
Discord also has an account on X, so if you have an account you can go put them on blast over there.
Public outrage over decisions like this does work. Make your voices heard.
They have a bluesky too and what's interesting about that is they never post there so if it were to be trending that they are stupid for doing it they might have to start using it to keep tabs on the situation...

How to Fix Underwriting
1. Slow down at emotionally important moments.
Big emotions need space to land. If a scene feels rushed, pause the plot briefly to show how the moment affects the character.
2. Add reactions, not explanations.
Instead of explaining what a character feels, show it through physical responses, hesitation, or small actions that reveal emotion naturally.
3. Ground every scene in the senses.
If a scene feels thin, add one or two sensory details—sound, texture, smell, or temperature—to make the moment feel lived-in.
4. Let thoughts interrupt action.
A line of internal thought can deepen a scene without slowing it too much. Thoughts show stakes, fear, longing, or conflict beneath the action.
5. Expand consequences, not events.
You don’t need more things to happen—you need to show what matters. Focus on how events change relationships, decisions, or self-perception.
6. Strengthen setting where emotion peaks.
The environment should echo or contrast the emotion of the scene. Setting is not decoration—it’s emotional reinforcement.
7. Add specific details instead of general ones.
Underwriting often relies on vague language. Swap “they argued” for one sharp line of dialogue or a specific breaking point.
8. Let dialogue breathe.
Short dialogue exchanges without pauses can feel flat. Add beats—silence, gestures, interruptions—to give the conversation weight.
9. Show transitions between scenes.
If scenes jump too quickly, readers feel disoriented. A brief transition helps establish time, mood, and emotional continuity.
10. Clarify stakes early in the scene.
If readers don’t know what can be lost, scenes feel empty. Make sure the character wants something specific and fears losing it.
11. Use the “what are they feeling right now?” check.
After each major beat, ask what emotion is dominant in that moment. If it’s missing on the page, the scene is likely underwritten.
12. Expand scenes that feel “too clean.”
If a scene resolves too neatly or quickly, it probably needs more tension. Messy emotions and unresolved feelings add depth.
I primarily write non fiction in the form of journaling in a public blog. But I still want my writing to be good. These work for non fiction too.

i love the point in the hero’s journey where he gets bent over and railed until he cries
Don’t leave this in the tags
“They talked off screen”
“They probably talked about it”
“I’m sure it happened”
Well since everything happened off screen on ST, according to the dipshit brothers, I’m choosing to believe Steve and Billy fucked after the fight on S2 off screen ✨

Wanna make a zine with me? (encore)
I wanna make a Harringrove zine, free to download and free to join, just for fun and the for the love of creating! (Like this one, which was the last one we did and which is still downloadable and printable.)
The main points are that it will be:
Inclusive (ie, no application process - if you want in, you're in)
Free (no money exchanged in any way; free to join, free to download)
Fun and low-pressure
Theme, for this time around, is SPACE* (free interpretation)
It will NOT be a professionally put-together zine. It will probably look like shit. It will defintitely look home-made, because it will BE home-made - but you'll be able to print it and staple it together and hold a physical copy in your hands, and isn't that the main thing, really?
Guidelines:
If you're a writer, please keep it short-ish? Say, please don't go over 4-5K?
If you're an artist, and choose to use colors in your work, please check that the art also looks okay when switched to black-and-white (not everyone has a colour printer).
Similarly, if you're a crafter, you can take pictures of your work but please make sure the images also look good when printed in black and white.
If you work with images/moodboards, please use images that are free to use/not copyrighted.
If you wanna collaborate with someone, feel free to!
If it has sensitive topics that you think are important to tell people about, please note that down when sending it in.
Do not use generative AI
Last date to send something in ... let's say December 15th. That should be enough time to do stuff.
(Also if you do wanna be a part of this, you'll have to accept that your work will be put into a zine by yours truly (and that it will probably look like crap, lol), and also that it will eventually be put online for people to get access to, for free.)
If you have questions, ask (just send me a message). And if you wanna be a part of it - just join in. :)
* the reason why the theme is SPACE MAY OR MAY NOT be because I just bought several rolls of pretty space-themed washi tape XD But that's neither here nor there :p
