sorry + impressed you’re still around + you don’t wanna know what my inbox looks like. answer to your first question is: cus they suck. sometimes it’s as simple as that. it certainly didn’t help that every time they started to fall behind warsofsky would panic and put the lines in a blender. they can’t play cohesively if they’re confused. but also i think they developed a bad habit of coming on strong in the first and then feeling safe once they got a few points ahead, which the other team could sense, and took advantage of it. like the sharks would come out swinging which is great and then they’d just kinda settle down and it would get sloppy. whole entire team needs to think about playing a full 60, not just starting off on a high note. answer to your second question: having any semblance of defense whatsoever would be an improvement defensively. and i mean that so sincerely like i really think the issue was mostly quality of players. also as an example i don’t think they’re utilizing dickinson correctly, i believe his style at worlds was a little more offensive and he played very well. he’s good but i think they need to let the developing guys play to their notable strengths until they’re more well rounded. overall i’ll be interested to see how they perform with their revamped D this season. i’ll probably have opinions about that. and also you didn’t ask but they’ve got to get toffoli off the power play. good lord.
