I've been playing ACNL for about two months now, and I feel like it's an actual town. The villagers have requests and things that make them feel more alive. They move out without needing your permission. You can give your opinion on whether they should stay, but just saying, "I'm moving out," feels so much better than "uwu I don't know if I want to wive hewe anymowe." I like that one rock breaks every single day. You can't nail them down. I like the way the mainstreet changes over time. I like the multiple changes in progression that stores have. I like the personal museum bit. I've decided to make a space museum section in there.

Going back to ACNH, my island feels less like a town and more like a model train set. The parts move and function but none of them act with any sort of autonomy.
