||: Thats fair, though I don't think the Volcanic would be considered a semi-auto since you have to actively lever it to fire another bullet. Semantics aside, I think something interesting about the pistol was it's ammunition, mainly being that it was one of the earliest metal cartridge munitions built at the time. This was probably why they miniaturized it into a pistol.

||: although, I'm not fond of the tubular magazine with the ammunition. If you know about tube feeding mechanisms, you will get why.

||: I'd say mildly. There is intention if you look in the right places. However, I believe the biggest reason one could assume that idea has to be the media medium and underlying principle that the Mica-verse (and most other Gachas for this matter) operate under. That being: "a maximalist, multifaceted and aesthetically varied fantasy/scifi blend, imbibed with historical materialism as a basis" (Not my words but instead a thread I once read on twitter some time ago)

||: The biggest example I, personally, would give to this can be the entire principle of Collapse Technology within the Mica-verse. Consider that, as a perfectly controlled process, Collapse Technology would undebatably revolutionize the methods humans would interact with not only the means of manufacturing but our tenuous relationship with scarcity. This change is particularly why Rossartrism (a clear update on the ideas of socialism) would become a prominent ideology leading around 2093 and creates a (nearly) one world governance system.

||: Without getting too much into the weeds with this, compared to how the west develops stories, these Gachas are more going for a layered cake approach with how their settings are created, influenced a bit by Marxist theory of historical forces. This is a gross oversimplification but going into it in detail would probably drive me crazy and most of you all bored.
