Any  wrong  move  by  Yan,  and  he  would  call  his  saber  back  to  his  hand.  As  long  as  he  dropped  the  subject,  he  would  stay.  Anakin  felt  uneasy.  Who  is  this  man?  And  why  did  he  find  me,  of  all  the  people  he  could  stumble  across,  he  thought.  As  far  as  he  knew,  not  even  the  Emperor  could  find  him.  And  he  preferred  it  that  way.  He  had  to  protect  the  younglings  and,  in  turn,  himself.  The  future  of  the  Jedi  depended  on  it. "The  Force  is  unpredictable.  Wild.  It  can  not  be  tamed,  or  its  nature  purely  understood."  His  mannerisms  reminded  him  of  Dooku.  The  problem  was  that  this  man  was  younger,  and  another  vital  thing:  he  killed  Dooku  himself.  This  frustrated  and  confused  Anakin  entirely. "He  was  a  Sith.  So  I  assume  he  hated  the  Jedi  for  keeping  the  peace."  Not  that  peace  happened  by  the  end  of  the  Clone  Wars.  Much  of  that  thought  was  cut  down,  like  Master  Windu  was  against  Palpatine.  "The  Jedi  were  the  only  ones  stopping  him  from  ascending  to  power."

Home,  what  a  joke.  It  was  the  one  thing  he  refused  to  think  about.  Arizona  felt  so  far  away,  and  he  wanted  to  keep  it  that  way.  With  a  sharp  jerking  motion,  he  cleaned  his  gun,  which  was  in  pieces.  He  didn't  need  Cameron  to  get  all  sentimental  on  him.  Especially  since  he  was  trying  so  hard  to  distance  himself  from  his  weaker  self.  Back  then,  he  couldn't  even  save  his  own  mother.  No,  it  wasn't  worth  getting  into  with  the  other.  "Did  your  mom  teach  ya  that  load  of  bullshit?"

Anakin's  eyes  flicked  over  to  the  elder  Jedi  as  he  sat  in  the  gardens.  Lately,  he  had  grown  more  quiet  than  usual.  Some  would  say  withdrawn.  Even  Obi-Wan  left  him  alone.  His  usual  volatile  mood  shifted  to  someone  more  open,  aware.  He  had  a  great  deal  to  think  about,  but  at  least  the  storm  inside  of  him  seemed  calmer.  "You  don't  need  to  be  worried  anymore.  I  did  as  you  said."  Skywalker  turned  his  head  to  look  at  the  small  pond  in  front  of  him.  "The  Grandmaster  and  Master  Windu  are  overseeing  my  new  training."

Anakin's  mind  went  instantly  nuts.  He  could  list  at  least  five  war  crimes  he  committed  while  he  was  in  service.  Acknowledging  the  rest  took  too  much  brain  power.  "Safety  can  be  a  dangerous  thing  sometimes."  Putting  the  last  piece  back  on  his  saber,  he  ignited  it  to  make  sure  it  still  worked.  His  eyes  went  slightly  wide  when  he  saw  the  blade.  The  color  changed...  it  was  no  longer  blue  but  a  deep  purple.  As  far  as  he  knew,  that  couldn't  happen  or  shouldn't.  And  the  only  person  he  knew  that  had  a  purple  saber  was  Master  Windu,  but  what  did  that  mean  for  him?  "My  whole  life  has  been  full  of  unpredictable  circumstances.  Safety  is  not  something  I've  ever  felt."

Aeron's  head  lifted  slowly  in  interest.  He  did  wonder  what  kind  of  game  it  was.  If  it  were  a  girly  one,  then  he  would  have  to  suffer  through  it.  Muttering  something  to  his  teamates,  he  pushed  up  the  mic.  "Gimme  five  and  I'll  play  wit  ya."   Alena  knew  the  way  to  get  his  attention.  Video  games  and  date  night  were  the  two  easiest  ways.

He  should  have  known  she  was  there.  The  gardens  at  this  time  of  night  were  dark  and  quiet.  Anakin  came  there  to  mediate  as  the  Grandmaster  instructed  him.  But  Alena's  presence  drew  him  out  of  his  trance  the  moment  he  sensed  her.  She  was  a  welcome  distraction  from  his  racing  thoughts  and  the  storm  of  emotions  that  always  whirled  around.  Opening  his  eyes,  he  stared  in  the  direction  her  voice  came  from.  "Couldn't  sleep  again?"

anakin is skeptical : please forgive me. i do so dislike deceiving people. {I'm new to Star Wars but I'm more than willing to learn! Or use whatever verse you think would fit ^^}

"So  you're  a  politician."  The  words  felt  like  a  dead  weight  on  his  tongue. He  should  have  known  better  than  to  trust  her  off  the  bat.  Turning  away,  Anakin  refused  to  look  at  Rosalie.  This  mission  was  tearing  at  everything  he  believed  in.  Love,  attachment,  or  even  friendship,  it  all  led  to  the  Dark  Side.  And  he  couldn't  afford  to  get  too  close  to  anyone.  "I'm  here  to  protect  you,  that's  it.  Nothing  more."  There  would  be  no  more  lighthearted  chats.  No  more  opening  up.  He  had  no  choice  but  to  cut  it  off  before  it  became  anything  like...  her.  Padme...  Squeezing  his  eyes  shut,  he  nodded  before  opening  them.  "Our  relationship  is  purely  professional."

"Gloat,  why  don't  you."  Finding  himself  in  her  kitchen,  he  helped  himself  and  grabbed  two  spoons  from  the  drawer.  Alena's  apartment  was  a  safe  spot  for  him.  There  was  no  need  to  check  his  cameras  constantly.  It  was  one  downfall  of  the  work  he  did.  Being  doaxed  was  always  a  possibility.  It  forced  him  to  take  more  measures  than  necessary.  All  just  to  feel  safe  in  his  own  place. "Tell  me  about  it.  Watchin'  him  eat  is  worse.  I  swore  he  was  pregnant."  Aeron  rolled  his  eyes.  "  You  got  Root  Beer  instead?  Um,  anything  brownie  with  chocolate."  He  could  get  used  to  this.  All  the  predictability  was  comforting.  It  was  something  he  hadn't  had  since  his  mother  died  in  his  arms  years  ago.  It  almost  got  him  thinking  about  quitting  being  a  merc  altogether.  But  would  he  be  satisfied  with  a  normal  life?  He  didn't  know  the  answer  to  that.
