I can just imagine down the line Bruce developing a bedtime routine for Tim, especially once the pups start sleeping in separate nests. Having a safe and comforting routine with him will be especially helpful once Dick starts going out as Robin again. Bruce can help settle Tim and reassure him that he is safe and loved, that his Daddy and big brother will be back come morning time. Bruce will reassure him that he will check on him when he’s back from patrol, but until then he wants Tim to try to get some sleep.

Jason will have an open invitation to his nest so even on the nights they sleep in their own dens, Tim can always crawl into bed with him if he has a nightmare or wakes up scared or lonely.

Bruce will have soothing nightlights plugged into Tim’s bedroom and bathroom, and the glow in the dark stars on the ceiling, so that he never has to wake up in total darkness. He can read him bedtime stories and sing him lullabies until Tim is too sleepy to keep clinging. Though, I imagine Bruce will relish in every, every moment where Tim clings to him. So grateful that he’s finally proven himself a safe person for the puppy, that he’s someone Tim can truly rely on and seek out.

Tim smacked his hand on the theater’s projection screen.

Bruce slid down into his seat with a sigh.

Bruce: this ought to be good.

Tim: Pinterest.

Bruce: yes?

Tim: Pinterest is using users data to train their AI program Canvas.

Dick: wut.

Tim: exactly. The average user doesn’t look at the fine print to know it. That Pinterest is also giving away their information to third parties.

Tim: luckily, you can turn it off in the settings.

Jason: are they really doing this.

Tim, deadpanning: all sites are doing this Jason. Not just Pinterest or google like I’ve previously brought to attention. Look for yourself.

Tim: turn that shit off. Pinterest is watching you and who knows who they are selling that shit too. What they’re taking. What AI is stealing.

Tim: Pinterest is Big Brother.

Tim: he seems to be your best friend but he knows everything about you. Your favorite things. What you like to eat, to watch, do for fun. There is no hiding. And if you do wrong? He deletes you.

Dick: holy fuck, Tim.

(Dick is still with the Titans, while Bruce meets Tim)

Tim has been lonely.

His parents left on a trip and promised they’d be back two weeks ago… but it’s been longer than that now. It’s not the first time they’ve left him alone longer than promised, but still…

He doesn’t want nearby pods or predators to notice he’s on his own, so he keeps close to the edges of the estate, hiding in the shadows and staying quiet. But it’s so booooring. And It’s also been a while since he last saw the Wayne pod pass by in the distance.

Finally, curiosity wins. He drifts a little farther out everyday and that’s when he realizes something is strange.

Mr. Wayne looks more lost than ever. He swims aimlessly, too aggressive, and Tim hasn’t seen anyone else from his pod for a while either.

Over time, Tim starts following him. Quietly. Carefully. When Bruce finally notice him, he’s startled. He didn’t expect his shadow to be a small kid.

What’s a child doing this far from his own pod? Alone, wearing a bracelet, no parents anywhere? Bruce calls out but Tim dodges his questions, then disappears again. But he keeps coming back. He’s too bored, too lonely, and there’s something oddly comforting about someone noticing and asking if he’s okay.

Bruce starts slowing his patrols, staying closer. He can’t let a child drift alone. Sometimes, he even brings food, courtesy of Alfred.

Little by little, the truth starts to slip out. Bruce offers to let Tim stay with him and Alfred, at least until his parents return.

Tim agrees.

And if being here lets him find out what happened to the rest of the pod…

A lot of people find it really unrealistic but I use a shit ton of pet names, I grew up with people who did my friends were called them by their siblings/parents. I think this is something that is very culturally centered.

But there’s a line.

Something about Nightwing specifically calling Tim and Damian baby just drags me out.

One time can be fine ehh but if it’s used too much I’m out.

This I fear is a great example of the delivery isn’t the greatest.

If it’s kind of jokingly, asshole or maybe a little degrading it would be a bit better. Closer to an insult versus sweet.

Examples:

“Come here baby Timmy.”

“There’s the baby.”

I think it would also work if he was just shouting like baby as a summoning.

Because I’ve shouted baby and both my little brother and my dog have responded.

A slight caveat is if dick is holding his dying little brother I think him saying, baby wake up is fine but the deliveries gotta be perfect.
