It's interesting that we considder Jason Todd well read as a kid when those wonderful references he would make in comics were actually fairly normal pop culture references that people would have expected to have at least known through cultural osmosis in the 1980s.
Whereas now Jason has the infamous "I'm not an idiot, I read Jane Austen" line as if men reading books is no longer a thing and reading one of the most famous authors to have ever existed is somehow intellectualism.

Because of my previous post Garfield's quote caught my eye, so I looked up the religious/biblical definition of conflagration.
Which also reminds me I meant to post the Detective Comics Batman #690 comic cover same story arc Garfield sees angels. It looks to be a cathedral engulfed in flames something I found peculiar (there are no cathedrals seen in #689-#690).
