Iâll never forgive aphobes/exclus for all the internalized aphobia I have from their crap.
I feel like I canât go into the more obscure labels, because âthere doesnât need to be so many labels.â âThat label describes everyone why does it need a word?â âYouâre just making something up to invade spaces!â
I feel like Iâm âcringeâ for just thinking about using multiple of these âspecial snowflake labels.â Iâd proudly go by sequencesexual, with âgrayâ tacked in front to emphasize how sexual attraction is still a rare thing for me. But then I think of all the people who sit around making fun of people for doing that sort of thing. I also relate to aceflux. And aego. But no, relating to multiple acespec labels is âcringe.â
I hate that, every single post I make, from the personal, to the educational, to the asks, right down to my tag ramblings, I have to go over with a fine-tooth comb before posting to make sure I didnât say anything that would offend any allosexuals of any kind. All because of the shit exclus would say about aces making allos out to be âdirtyâ and âharmfulâ and âoversexualized.â While talking about ace issues, I have to pad everything to make sure Iâm not offending allos. When you think about it, thatâs kinda fucked up, is it not?
I hate that, when I first made this blog, I had to dive into the discourse tags to block the most active aphobes, but before blocking them, I had to go through their blog to find more aphobes they reblogged shit from, so I could block as many aphobes as possible. All on the off chance they take one of my posts and turn it into a âha ha Tumblr cringeâ joke. (Which theyâve already done to a post on my main blog.)
I hate how, the times I do experience sexual attraction, I got this one brain cell thinking that, maybe I was never gray ace. I was actually allosexual all along. Because, maybe it was depression. Maybe it was my birth control. Maybe itâs just my time of the month. Maybe Iâm just normal, despite the fact I had never felt ânormalâ over any of my feelings regarding sex. Despite the fact my libido has always worked just fine even when thereâs no one Iâm sexually attracted to.
And all those aphobes and exclus get to get on with their lives, not thinking about our existence until something brings us up. Meanwhile, I canât think about my own identity without arguing with myself over the validity of it!Â
Itâs absolute bullshit that I have to work to undo all this internalized aphobia they gave me. I should be able to use all the labels I want without fear of judgment. I should be able post whatever I want without being paranoid an aphobe will attack me for stereotyping allos, or call me homophobic, or some other thing. But I canât, because all their arguments, jokes, and âhot takesâ keep popping up in my head.
I sit here, telling acespecs they can still be ace if they ____. That they can go by ____ if they feel itâs accurate. That they can _____ and still be valid. But I struggle to believe it myself. All because of aphobes and exclus.
And I say to hell with all that shit!
Iâm a sex-ambivalent, aplatonic hetero-orchidromantic gray-sequencesexual who feels aegosexual when thereâs no one Iâm currently sexually attracted to, and is aflux for one person in particular. I also jokingly call myself driversexual because 2/3 people Iâve been sexually attracted to were UPS drivers and I find that hilarious. Anyone with a problem with my identities can piss right off!
