the reason it's so fucking annoying when people specify women while excluding men in their descriptions of the queer community and/or their descriptions of who is allowed in spaces intended for people marginalized by gender ("girls gays and theys", "ladies and gentle-thems", "women and women-alligned", "women and nonbinary", etc.) is that it implies:
trans people (esp. trans men) are not queer
trans people (esp. trans men) are not marginalized
trans people (esp. trans men) are not marginalized on the basis of gender
cis women are queer by default.
it's so fucking stupid. it's so fucking dumb. oh my GOD
Shoutout to transmascs (and anyone else) who had or want to have phalloplasty, especially if you don't have or want top surgery. I feel like in transmasc spaces top dysphoria, binding, and top surgery are talked about a lot and bottom surgery gets treated as taboo for some reason. If you have bottom dysphoria and/or want phalloplasty it's perfectly fine to talk about, you don't have to be ashamed of wanting this because any stigma around it is completely pointless. If you want a dick I wish you the best of luck in your quest to get a dick. Thank you that is all.
pls donât let this flop
i love how every time heâs just like, oh? itâs just a random-ass platypus?, perry is just. so fucking done with him. like seriously, how many platypuses does he even know???
He doesnât want to assume every platypus is Perry bc that would be a microaggressionÂ
The way the machine pauses like âshould I do this?â before it draws the circle
rocky horror is the worst and is also transmisogynistic can we please finally get over this shit movie
ok but like the writer is transgender nonbinary and the language used in the play was the preferred language by trans people of that time can we not deny parts of our history because weâve evolved since then thanks
So fucking much this.
PS, youth of today: youâll be saying the same damn thing about art from this time before too long, for good or for ill. Terminology will, in fact, change. Definitions will, in fact, shift. It always does, they always do.Â
PPS, it is pretty much impossible to overstate how life-alteringly important this movie was to kids who didnât conform to standard expectations of gender and sexuality, back in the day. Especially when back in the day was the mid-to-late 1980s, when the only queers you saw on TV were neutered AIDS tragedies, Bowie was playing straight, and even Elton John was married to a woman, and midnight showing of RHPS were pretty much the only place that felt like home. It was mental life raft for a lot of people.
I was one of them.
#the queer youth of today has forgotten all its history and is spitting on its ancestors and i hate it (via @gaythreatsâ)
beautifully phrased
I am not going to deny any perspective on this post as invalid but I also think we mustnât villainize queer youth. We as a community must relearn what it means to have elders. And that takes both ends of the age spectrum to open their hearts and minds.
âQueer youth of today has forgotten all its historyâ ? When weâre they supposed to learn? And how are they supposed to forget what they never learned. Knowing our history isnât inherent. How can they know if they never learned. You are placing an impossible expectation on queer youth to just magically know our history. A majority of our history until the past 10-20 years was passed through tradition, story telling, and signaling.
Our history is still not taught in schools in a broad sense. I am lucky that I was able to write a research paper in the aids epidemic when I was a senior in high school, 4 years ago. I became the expert on the aids epidemic in my class because we were not being to aight that history in our classroom, in San Francisco of all places. In many states and schools that would not be allowed, then and still now.
And by forcing queer youth to self educate through website, YouTube, and research papers, you are erasing a crucial part of queer history in of itself, our history has been passed through tradition, from one queer to another for our entire history, the existence of internet archives does not negate the need for queer to queer communication.
Because even these internet archives where they can go to learn the in depth history are not readily available always- schools have firewalls, parents have the ability to track internet activity- it is not always safe to engage this way. What is readily available are shitty people on social media.
And I am saying this as a 22 year old queer person- I am one of the younger ones. I taught myself a lot of what I know and I was privileged enough to live in a place filled with queer history that allowed me access to it.
If they have no where to turn to how are they supposed to learn. And if elders are accusing them of âspitting on our ancestorsâ they will not feel inclined to reach out to any other elders who may be able to teach them well.
Queer youth misunderstanding and not knowing our history is different than the people who villainized being queer, who erased us from history books. They are scared 15 year olds who are only being told that they are causing harm and not being given the grace and space to learn what they do not know.
If you think that âqueer youth of today has forgotten all its history and are spitting on its ancestorsâŚâ then help.
And to my fellow queer youths, do not feel threatened by being told you are wrong. Listen and learn, and understand.

Such a good boy
this actually reminds me of when i was in second grade and it was snack time but we had been misbehaving so they gave us assigned seats on the rug and i had to sit next to this girl whoâs snack was mangoes but i didnât like her because she bullied me so i told the teacher that i was allergic to mangoes and i couldnât sit next to her and my teacher was like âoh it doesnât say anything about any food allergies on this paper right here you might have to update the school nurse on thatâ so i went to the school nurses office and she called my mom and my mom was like (and i genuinely have no idea why) but my mom was like âyeah sure sheâs allergic to mangoesâ so then the school had on paper that i was allergic to mangoes so at this point i was like in wayyy to deep so i just pretended to be allergic to mangoes for the next 5 years like i went full throttle into this lie i even came up with a backstory to explain how i found out i was allergic to mangoes it got to the point where even my parents just genuinely believed i was allergic to mangoes until one day when i was 12 i just came clean and explained the story to my parents and they where like âyeah that sounds like something youâd doâ but anyway i never got to enjoy my new found mango freedom until about a year later when i was over at my friends house and they had mangoes and i was like âactually i havenât had a mango in 6 yearsâ and they where like âomg theyâre so good you have to try someâ so i did and they were sooooo good like i look exactly like the picture above i was gobbleing that shit up like cookie monster it was insane and anyway basically 20 minutes later i broke out in hives.
