The only acceptable reason for this is if this character is actually a demon who seduces men and then eats them. [source]

my breasts are nicely separated. Completely divided, every year they move apart by half an inch.
My breasts are nicely separated though they still fight for custody of the children.
I,,a woman,,,am WiDeR LOweR dOwN
That was difficult to read.
My name is Ebony D'arkness Dementia Raven Way, and my breasts are nicely separated
OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT AND HOW ON EARTH DID IT GET PUBLISHED
You can always tell when itâs a man writing a description because they focus oddly on the breasts. There will always be something about breasts and I canât tell you how many times Iâve read historical or fantasy fiction and they talk about âher breasts hanging freely under her tunicâ or what the fuck ever and itâs likeâŚwomen donât do that? We donât describe ourselves by saying âI have blonde hair and blue eyes and my breasts hang freely under my tunicâ. I kind of feel like we should counter by awkwardly mentioning all male characterâs balls in their description. Itâs kind of in the same vein.
âI have auburn hair and hazel eyes and my copious nicely separated balls hangs freely under my breechesâ

Im actually laughing so hard omg
This is so much better with pictures! That harpy looks gooooooood!
JFC, Michaeangelo wasnât this bad at women and his idea of âsculpt a girlâ was sticking some apple-shaped tits on a body heâd modelled after a man, and at least HE had the excuse of being gay and not giving a fuck
HOLY SHIT iâve never seen the version with the fucking drawings before
I do a lot of beta reading and I swear to fuck I had to find a way to tell a guy he wrote like a misogynistic prick without saying it right out. what part of his writing stood out the most? the fact that not one but both the mc's love interests had pert, but perfect breasts and I almost died.
disney: mulan live action movie
me:
disney:
me:
The change from Li Shang is concerning, and not only because itâs erasing a very distinctly bisexual character. Forget sexuality: even if you prefer a more platonic interpretation (which I donât), Li Shang clearly respects, admires, and likes Mulan as Ping and as a person. He loves her as a friend long before he loves her as a woman, girlfriend, or wife. The entire point of the movie is that Li Shang loves Mulan as a person (platonically, romantically, either way), not just as a potential mate. The entire point of the entire ending is that people do not award women the same respect offered to men. (Mushu:Â âHuh? Youâre a girl now, remember?â) The entire point of the finale is that Shang and Pingâs friends do give Mulan the same respect as a woman, because her gender doesnât matter: she is still the same person with the same good strategic sense, and theyâll trust her whether sheâs wearing armor or a dress.
If this âChen Honghuiâ hates Mulan/Ping until he finds out that she is a woman, that isnât just erasing Shangâs bisexuality: itâs also sexualizing Mulan and stripping her of all her agency and accomplishment. In this version, Mulan isnât worthy of respect as a person. She is only worth admiring as a woman. He canât like her as a warrior, as a strategist, as a friend, as a person; he can only like her as a woman. Let me rephrase this: Instead of giving Mulan a chance to earn the same respect Chen offers to all his other warriors, heâs only going to appreciate her once he sees her as a woman. As an âapprovedâ sexual object. ONLY THEN is it worth noticing her or granting her basic human decency and respect. âSomething like love,â as the description tells us, clearly has nothing to do with any of her personality and everything to do with genitalia. Even if he was completely and entirely straight, we should see that heâs at least befriending Mulan/Ping before the Gender Reveal. Straight guys can still recognize another manâs good qualities and appreciate them for what they are. If Ping isnât even a friend before âheâ becomes Mulan, then this isnât âsomething like love;â itâs just lust and objectification, pure and simple. The ârivalryâ is also bullshit. The fact that ârivalryâ can change so quickly into âsomething like loveâ means only that for Chen, a set of imaginary genitalia is all it takes to completely shift his perspective on someone from âworthy of competitionâ to âworthy of sex.â What, so heâs just going to abandon the rivalry now that sheâs a woman? Oh - because sheâs only a woman. He doesnât have to compete with her anymore, because thatâs not what you do with women. A rivalry would imply that sheâs still a man, and at least he can view a rival as a decent warrior; but now, she can be comfortably reduced to Sex Appeal.
Also⌠what about that personality? âCocky?â A âmean, bullying streakâ? Thinks of Mulan as âhis chief rival?â Are you going to strip the male lead of EVERY shred of decency? Li Shang isnât a bully: he is a soldier who pushes his men (and woman) to excel, because this is wartime and thatâs the only way to survive. He genuinely cares about them and shows real pride when they show signs of improvement. He doesnât see them as rivals; he sees them as friends for whom he is responsible. Sure, he doesnât like Ping at first, but thatâs got nothing to do with gender and more to do with the fact that Pingâs initial behavior is so inflammatory. (Dodges commanderâs questions; starts fights in the rice line; holds the other soldiers back in training; cheats on assignments, even if thatâs the result of Mushuâs intervention). Once Ping proves himself as a person and as a warrior, Shang doesnât hesitate to reward Ping with all the admiration Ping deserves.Â
Disney is so concerned about removing every hint of bisexuality from its movies, itâs also utterly destroyed any decency they could have in a heterosexual romance. In their attempts to make everything nice and straight and cisgendered, theyâre bending their characters WAY out of whack.Â
Theyâre taking Mulan - originally a woman who denies gender boundaries to prove that gender doesnât matter to personal worth - and theyâre turning her into a person who canât earn respect, honor, or even the admiration of her fellow soldiers until she puts on a dress and can be seen, not as a warrior or as a person but as an object of desire.Â
And theyâre taking Shang - originally a man who cares about his fellow soldiers and who respects Mulan regardless of her gender presentation - and turned him into a cocky asshole who only cares about himself and is only able to appreciate Mulan when she is female, and even then, only because heâd like to have some sex.
What the fuck Disney. What. The. Fuck
Reblogging this here as well because this pisses me off.
the WORST kind of movies r the ones where the nerdy girl is in love with popular dude and he ignores her but after starting to wear make up and pretty clothes he suddenly falls in love with her hetero culture is disgusting
whatâs wrong with straight guys wearing makeup and pretty clothes?
wait thatâs not what you meant
Now THAT would be a movie
Theyâd never talked. not really. Thomas plays football, though Amber doesnât remember what position. Once, Amber and her best friend, Casey, were talking by their lockers when the subject of football and everyoneâs obsession with it came into play.Â
âItâs just fetch!â Amber said, probably a little too loudly. âItâs fucking fetch. The ball goes over there, and they run after it. No one else is allowed to have the ball. So they tackle each other. Then they call time to make sure that theyâre supposed to tackle like that, which takes ten-fucking-minutes, and then the ball goes somewhere else!â
Somewhere in Caseyâs giggling, Amber heard a quiet snort. Sheâd turned around, and Thomas stopped his laughing and walked away. So, yeah, technically, they know of each otherâs existence, in a you-made-fun-of-my-shot-at-a-free-ride-through-college way.Â
The problem was that Amber had, and still has, a bit of a crush on Thomas.Â
âMaybe change your style?â Casey suggests as she and Amber lay on the floor of Amberâs bedroom. âJocks tend to like their girlfriends preppy, if they canât get them directly from the cheerleading or dance teams.Â
âI dunno. Iâve never been very good at makeup,â Amber answered. She rolls onto her stomach and eyes her lonely plastic makeup box. It sits high on the shelf, with the rest of the forgotten relics of her middle school years, when she wanted to be a princess.Â
Nowadays it collects dust with a few porcelain dolls, some frilly thing sheâd made for christmas one year, whose hook had broken years ago, and that one picture of her and her dad from the father-daughter dance from her two year stint in choir.Â
âYou can always learn,â Casey offers. She rolls her Revlon 610 in her fingers and holds the tube out to Amber. âRed is a good look on you.â
âI dunno. It always seems like a lot of work,â Amber answers, eyeing Caseyâs perfectly done makeup. Never, in their whole three years of knowing each other, has Amber seen so much as a makeup line along Caseyâs job. It always looks so complicated, and while Caseyâs tried to show Amber once or twice, they were long past the days of tutorials.
âNah. practice makes efficiency, you know? This,â she says with a gesture towards her face, âis ten minutes. Eyeliner is another two. Highlighting and contour for special occasions.â
...
The next day, Thomas is lurking around the library instead of with the rest of his friends. He looks nervous about something, and itâs obvious that heâs only pretending to look for a book. Amberâs eyes arch a bit. Itâs not that obvious, not unless you spent a lot of time either doing or seeing people do makeup, but there is a line at Thomasâ jaw, almost as if he didnât blend properly in that area. The rest of the makeup is... almost unnoticeable, actually. Amber would bet money on Thomasâ younger sister being involved in this.Â
âHey,â Amber says. She keeps her voice low, meant only for Thomas. The other kid jumps a bit, but he tries to hide it. Amber musters through her butterflies and offers up a smile.
âYou have a makeup line on your jaw. Do you want me to fix it?â Clear hesitation flashes across Thomasâ face before heâs nodding. Carefully, Amber steps around and rubs until the line is gone.
âThanks,â Thomas says. His smile is wobbly, like he expects Amber, in her giant sweatshirt, to make fun of him. Some of her nerves go away, and Amber gives off another, much more confident, smile.Â
Maybe... maybe they could learn together.

Iâve seen five different authors take down, or prepare to take down, their posted works on Ao3 this week. At the same time, Iâve seen several people wishing there was more new content to read. Iâve also seen countless posts by authors begging for people to leave comments and kudos.Â
People tell me I am a big name fan in my chosen fandom. I donât quite get that but for the purposes of this post, letâs roll with it. On my latest one shot, less than 18% of the people who read it bothered to hit the kudos button. Sure, okay, maybe that one sort of sucked. Letâs look at the one shot posted before that - less than 16% left kudos. Before that - 10%, and then 16%. Iâm not even going to get into the comments. Letâs just say the numbers drop a lot. Iâm just looking at one shots here so we donât have to worry about multiple hits from multiple chapters, people reading previous chapters over, etc. And if I am a BNF, that means other people are getting significantly less kudos and comments.
Fandom is withering away because it feels like people donât care about the works that are posted. Why should I go to the trouble of posting my stories if no one reads them, and of the people who do read them, less than a fifth like them? Even if you are not a huge fan of the story, if it kept your attention long enough for you to get to the bottom, go ahead and mash that kudos button. Itâs a drop of encouragement in a big desert.Â
TL;DR: Passively devouring content is killing fandom.
Reblogging again
So much this
You know, kudos and comments are much beloved by all esp. yrs truly, but I have to say: Iâve been posting fic for 20 years, and I have never in my entire life had a story stay above a 1:9 kudos to hits ratio (or comments to hits, back when kudo wasnât an option). Usually they donât stay above 1:10, once theyâve been around for a few weeks.
I also have a working background in online marketing. In social media 1:10 is what you would call a solid engagement score, when people actually care about your product (as opposed to âlikingâ your Facebook page so they could join a contest or whatever). If BNFs are getting 1:5 - and I do sometimes see it - that is sky-high engagement. Take any celebrity; take Harry Styles, who has just under 30M followers and doesnât tweet all that often. He regularly gets 3-400K likes, 1-200K retweets. Iâve seen him get up to just under 1M likes on a tweet. Thatâs a 1:30 engagement ratio, for Harry Styles, and though some of you guys enjoy my fics and have said so, I donât think you have as lasting a relationship with my stories as Harry Stylesâs fans do with him. XD;
Again, this is not to say we, as readers, should all go home and not bother to kudo or comment or engage with fic writers. That definitely is a recipe for discouraging what you want to see in future. But this is not the first post Iâve seen that suggests a 20% kudo ratio is the equivalent of yelling into the void, and Iâm worried that we as writers are discouraging ourselves because our expectations are out of whack.
I think about this a lot, because itâs important to know what a realistic goal to expect from an audience is, even though I admit it definitely is kind of depressing when you look at the numbers. I was doing reading on what sort of money you can expect to make from a successful webcomic, and the general rule of thumb seems to be that if your merchandising is meshing well with your audience, about 1% will give you merch. I imagine âsubscribe to patreonâ also falls in this general range.Â
Stuff that is ONLY available for dollars are obviously going to have a different way of measuring this, but when it comes to âIf people can consume something without engaging back in any fashion (hitting a like button, buying something, leaving a comment)â the vast majority will.
And as a creator that is frustrating but as a consumer itâs pretty easy to see how it happens. I have gotten steadily worse at even liking posts, much less leaving comments on ones I enjoy, since I started using tumblr. Itâs very difficult to engage consistently. I always kudo on any fanfic I read and comment on the vast majority, but then again I donât read a lot of fanfic, if you are someone who browses AO3 constantly/regularly for months or years, I could see how itâs easy to stop engaging. I donât remember to like every YT video or tumblr fanart I see, much less comment on them.
When we are constantly consuming free content itâs hard to remember to engage with it or what that engagement means to the creators. And lol, honestly that sucks. Certainly as consumers we should be better about it. But also like, as a creator be kinder to yourself by setting a realistic bar of what you can achieve.Â
And IMO, if numbers matter to you (kudos, comments, etc) be honest about the fact that you CAN improve those things by marketing yourself better. The âI just produced my art and put it out there and got insanely popular because it was just so brilliantâ is less than a one a million chance. Lots of amazing content is overlooked every day because there is a lot of good content and a metric fuckton of mediocre to bad content. You can only SORT of judge the quality of your work based on the audience it generates, but if what you WANT is an audience there is way, way, WAY more you can be doing than simply producing whatever you immediately feel like. Marketing yourself is a skill and if you want the benefits of it you have to practice it.
I have a professional background in internet marketing as my day job and a moderate hobby business. My definition for âmoderateâ is âit pays for itself, keeps me in product, and occasionally buys groceries.â In the day job, which is for an extremely large global company, there are entire teams of people whose entire purpose of employment is to ensure a 3% conversion rate. Thatâs it. That is for a Fortune 100 company: the success metric is for 3% of all visitors to a marketing web site to click the âsend me more infoâ link. My moderate business that pays for itself has a 0.94% conversion rate of views to orders. Less than 1%, and itâs still worth its time â and this is without me bothering to do any marketing beyond instagram and tumblr posts with new product. I know it feels like no one is paying attention to you and youâre wasting your time if you donât get everyone clicking kudos or commenting but I promise, I PROMISE, you are doing fantastically, amazingly well with your 10% rate. You probably arenât going to go viral AND THATâS FINE. Youâre only hurting yourself if youâre expecting a greater return â donât call yourself a failure, because youâre NOT. Youâre just looking at it the wrong way. I promise, youâre lovely just the way you are.
Reblogging this bc it is a take on fan engagement at AO3 that I havenât seen before, and as a writer I find it helpful to have this reality check. Also I wonder which came first: the overall low engagement rates in internet commerce, or the freaking shit-ton of unwanted spam and advertising weâre constantly bombarded with?
I think as writers our assumption (my assumption anyway) is that the portion of hits that donât convert to kudos equals the portion of readers who looked at your fic, didnât like it, and never finished it. But it would seem that is an overly pessimistic assumption.Â
I should know this, because IÂ âlikeâ very sparingly here and reblog only less sparingly, and yet I read and enjoy a lot of posts I donât like or reblog.Â
#also something that is really obvious that none of this points out#(probably someone did somewhere in the notes but I do have a life)#your hit count will go up by virtue of PEOPLE REREADING YOUR FIC#a hit count disproportionate to kudos/comments#which are things that are only really done once #is INEVITABLE#and a GOOD thing #people rereading your fic is a good thing
I needed this thread. I'm writing a fanfic now. It's one of my best, IMO, and it's fairly popular, at ~605 hits and 5.5 comments on per chapter, which puts me at about .91% view-comment ratio. It's hard to look at that and be like "this is something that people really do like", because I've had fewer hits with more comments. But when you consider the fact that the pattern repeats the internet over, it makes me feel better.
Fantasy Guide: Common battle wounds and how to fix them
Arrow wounds: Now if the lung, heart, kidney, other major organ is hit, there may be little to do. The kidney has a back up, so maybe a skilled surgeon could save him, not exactly sure however. If hit by an arrow and not hit dangerously in an organ or artery, we can help. Firstly, DO NOT REMOVE arrow by yanking. Arrow must be worked from the skin by skilled hands. Once arrow is out, wash would with clean water/alchohol/herbal remedies. To heal slow, sew up wound and wrap in bandages. To speed it up, cauterise the wound with fire. It will hurt and patient pay pass out but now the arrow wound can heal faster. This works for crossbow bolts as well. On the gross side, arrows may be smeared with dirt or shit, so sepsis is a danger. This is how the great Richard the Lionheart died. Sometimes the mighty lion is killed by a shit arrow. But hey, shit happens. Arrow wounds take a couple of weeks to heal.
Sword slashes: if shallow, wash and bind up. May require stitches. If deeper, repeat process with more stitches and more bandages. Even if shallow, the cut must be washed using alcohol or clean water. May take a few days to weeks to heal depending on wound depth and severity.
Stab wound: Again donât remove knife or object. If already removed, wash would and sew it up. You may need to cauterise. If guts, organs, brain, is falling out, there is nothing to do. This may take a couple of weeks to months to heal depending on wound.
Broken Bones: A break must be splinted with a board of wood and bandages. Slings can support arms and wrists. If your character breaks a leg, it may be worse. Breaks donât heal great without modern medicine. Your character may have a limp or leg pain. In youâre are living in a hot climate, youâre pretty much fucked because infection sets in fast. These may take months to heal.
For @maslovianwench
all it takes to be a âreal writerâ is having written a single word outside of having to write for something like work or school. You do not need a degree, you do not need to have x many words written. you do not need to be published. all you gotta do, is love writing. remember that.
Like, being published is great. for a lot of writers the end goal is around this area but at the end of the day we all write that really shitty piece of work with terrible grammar, character development, plot, etc. that weâre so proud of because, hey, we wrote something.Â
Itâs not about the end result. Itâs about the process.Â

âThis is your daily, friendly reminder to use commas instead of periods during the dialogue of your story,â she said with a smile.
âUnless you are following the dialogue with an action and not a dialogue tag.â He took a deep breath and sat back down after making the clarifying statement.Â
âHowever,â she added, shifting in her seat, âitâs appropriate to use a comma if thereâs action in the middle of a sentence.â
âTrue.â She glanced at the others. âYou can also end with a period if you include an action between two separate statements.â
Things I didnât know
âAndââ she waved a pen as though to underline her statementââif youâre interrupting a sentence with an action, you need to type two hyphens to make an en-dash.â
You guys have no idea how many students in my advanced fiction workshop didnât know any of this when writing their stories.
File this under âsuper obvious yet I always seem to forget it.â
I donât write romance (I totally respect people who do, though!) but this is also great writing advice in general! What is preventing the protagonist from achieving their goal?
Why canât these two people be together now?
Why canât the mystery be solved now?
Why canât they overthrow the evil overlord now?
If you donât have a solid answer for these questions, thatâs a good indicator that the plot could use some more work.
Also test your answer a little bit. If itâs as thin as theyâre just refusing to sit down and have a simple conversation, you might want to re-think how things are going.
As a beta reader/editor, I tend to ask this question a lot:Â âWhy are they doing it this way when thereâs a much easier path available?â Thatâs not to say that they should take the easier path, because that would usually be boring. Instead, the point is that the question needs an answerâeither eliminate the easier path or give them a very clear reason for not taking it. (And if Iâm asking the question, that reason isnât as clear as you think it might be.)
I find it very difficult to root for characters who have a sensible option available and just donât take it. If the only reason is âBecause there wouldnât be a story otherwise,â you havenât actually found the story yet.
And this is why the Big Misunderstanding as a primary plot device is almost universally disliked.
Another thing: if you find yourself having to come up with an answer to the above question, remember that a lot of the time, you don't have to come up with new elements for your story. It's definitely possible to just make the current ones more complicated.
Wow tumblr, youâre really protecting the children by banning adult content and not the nazis. Great job.

The Three Deadly Fanfiction Sins and How to Avoid Them
I love fanfiction with all of my heart.
I think itâs an amazing tool to use to hone in on your writing skills and learn about time management, how readers view your work, and in some casesâ if someone leaves a helpful reviewâ how to improve your writing overall. Not to mention that if you have a severe case of writerâs block on your WIP, writing fanfiction is a great way to keep yourself writing even if itâs not on your main work.
As a reader of fanfiction, however, I often come across works that, when I read the description, I get super excited about. Itâs the perfect fic! Itâs about my favorite pairing, the plot sounds amazing, it has ten chapters with a sufficient word count, AND itâs complete! And then I open it up and immediately click out of it before I finish reading the first paragraph, disheartened but determined to find something else that sounds just as good.
We all know that feeling when weâre excited about a great-sounding fic and then we open it up only to find that itâs committing one of the Three Deadly Fanfiction Sins.
What are these sins, you ask? And how can you avoid them when writing your own fanfiction?
Well, buckle up tight because Iâm here to tell you what will make readers immediately click out of your story and move on to another one.
JUST A NOTE:Â ONE OF THESE POINTS ARE JUST MY OPINION, AND I DONâT INTEND TO OFFEND ANYONE WHO MAY ENJOY WRITING/READING FICS LIKE THIS
Keep reading
I have an add on. Â
Misrepresentation is a big one for me.Â
The summary and the tags said âcute romance paired with learning to accept the parts of yourself that others find distasteful or shame you forâ. The fic read âStockholm syndrome and a severe lack of knowledge on the ins and outs of consentâ.Â
Now Iâm not saying you canât write a rapey stockholm syndrome story, but if youâre going to write that, please write an accurate summary and tag it accordingly.Â

A better, more positive Tumblr
Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, weâre proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.
Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, weâve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. Weâve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, weâre taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions). Â
Letâs first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with todayâs policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. Weâve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.
So what is changing?
Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and weâve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.
Why are we doing this?
It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.
So whatâs next?
Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes wonât happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.
Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. Weâre relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but weâve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.
Most importantly, weâre going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions weâre making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.
Like you, we love Tumblr and what itâs come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We wonât always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.

No one wants this. Keep children off the site or set up a âkids/teen modeâ
@nealersegs918 agree so much!!!!
@nealersegs918 thatâs a BRILLIANT idea! Have a mode meant specifically for those under 18! THIS is what Tumblr should be working towards to do! Basicaly make two SEPARATE sites to make sure things are safe for kids.Â

This.
do you ever see someone in some quiet intimate moment and suddenly love them so desperately you feel like youâre dying
#like when they pass a mirror and make a face and mess with their hair a little #or when you hear someone singing in their car with the windows rolled up as they drive past you #i donât know how to express this i just. people are people and it makes me so sad and filled up sometimes
I love seeing grown humans setting about little creative tasks out of boredom and then looking quietly pleased with themselves, like maybe a middle-aged woman on her train home from work manages to make a tower out of empty coffee creamers and gazes at it proudly for a few seconds.
I love seeing other people make the overblown OOPS I FORGOT SOMETHING performance for no-one that most of us do when we have to turn around in the middle of the pavement.
I love seeing stony-faced people in queues unable to contain a smile when a baby looking over its motherâs shoulder in front of them locks eyes and does that astonished stare.
- when someone is standing in line and they donât quite dance to the music playing, but you can SEE their head bop and them mouthing the words
- when someone thinks no oneâs paying attention and they sing-talk themselves thru a task
- when they laugh or try to hide a laugh when looking at their phone
- when someone does the thing where they enter another space (such as a supermarket aisle) striding with total purpose, then suddenly forget what theyâre doing/looking for, and stop there looking blank for a millisecond while they reboot.Â
- when people are looking for scissors, in their home or in a store, and they make the scissors gesture with their non-dominant hand as an aid to remind them what theyâre doing.
- when automatic social interactions glitch, like when you tell a waiter that you hope he enjoys his food too, or tell the stranger on the phone that you love them.Â
- the hand gesture people make when theyâre thinking at their computer, not typing, and their elbow rests on the table, and they feel the edge of their fingernail with their thumb. This is such a lovely little gesture and to my knowledge I have never seen it in fiction. Youâd think it would come up all the time in fic.
- when youâre sharing an experience with a complete stranger (like watching a seagull throw up in public, or waiting for a late train) and you make eye contact, and some comment to each other, and then you guys are, like, ALLIES now. Like you would willingly ride to war to save them. You canât make eye contact again, but you are very aware of them.Â
- just evidence of other peopleâs rich, baffling and complex inner lives.
i love watching couples or friends walking in tandem. i love seeing when they make each other laugh
This is what Hozier means when he says âI fall in love just a little bit everyday with someone new.â
