First time I see the full lyrics without it being take me to snurch (snail church)
What really makes this for me is that OP could have phoned it in on the chorus and just repeated the same fics, but no. They found a unique one every time. Class act.
Man notices an Eagle eyeing the fish he just caught
*gets back to the nest* baby you are NEVER gonna believe how i got this fish
No but the Hunger Games really said "what do you hate more- the atrocities or the people who commit them against you? Because like it or not there IS a difference. If you hate the people who commit acts of pure evil more than you hate the acts themselves, what will stop you from becoming just like your enemies in your pursuit of justice? What will keep you from commiting those very same acts against THEM when the opportunity arises? And what then? The cycle of pain and suffering will never stop. Round and round it'll go. Nothing will ever change. But. BUT. If you hate the atrocities. If you hate the vile, senseless acts MORE than you hate the people who did them to you. If you are able to see that evil is evil regardless of who does it... The cycle ends with you. No, you may never get justice. But you will never be responsible for making others, even your enemies, suffer the same crimes you have. The atrocities will never be committed by you, never by your hand. And that's the way you change the world. It's the ONLY way" and that's why I am sure it will never stop being one of the most relevant works of fiction ever created

Have you ever gone to an concert/movie alone*?
yes
no
* as in you spent the entire time alone and you didn't go there alone with plans to meet up with someone.
âdonât take it personallyâ how would you like me to take it then? professionally? romantically? academically?
World historical loser
âGhosts are realâ I can see how you could believe that
âGhosts arenât realâ itâs very fair and rational that you believe that
âGhosts arenât real anymoreâ Iâm about to hear a poem or very sad story
âGhosts arenât real yetâ the fuck are you going to do

Wonder Woman: Batman, we could make good use of Nightwing with this. Would you call him?
Dick, who's filling in for Bruce as Batman: I'll call him
---
Hal: you've gained some muscles
Jason, dressed as Nightwing: I started working out
Hal: Damn. What's the routine cause I just saw you last week and you look completely different.
Jason: steroids
Dick, as batman: *chokes on coffee*
---
Superman: We might need someone who's good with guns, hm... Hey Nightwing you're in contact with redhood, right? Could you have him come?
Jason, as Nightwing: ... I don't see why not
---
Wonder woman: this security is an issue we need someone who can hack this system long enough for us to get pass
Superman: hey hood, any chance you can give red robin a call?
Tim, with 5 inches of padding, as redhood: on it
---
Hal: isn't robin usually with you all?
Flash: yeah we could use him with this one
Superman: Red Robin, would you call in Robin for us?
Damian, in red robin costume: he's dead
Got into a discussion about emergency response at a professional retreat recently and everyone was going on and on about agility, and I was like, "Okay but what about contingency?"
And they were like "What?"
And I was like, "Agility isn't the ultimate form of preparedness. Contingency is. Agility still requires you to flounder and figure out a solution in the moment, but if you have a contingency plan, all you have to do is implement it."
And they were like "But you can't make contingency plans for every situation!"
And I was like, "Yeah, you basically can if you just identify all of your basic dependencies and contingency plan around the loss of any dependency," and then I gave a few examples.
And they all stared at me like I'm an alien.
Anyway, that's how I figured out I'm Batman-coded and also learned how Batman must feel talking to supposedly professional superheroes who never bothered to run disaster scenarios until I pointed out that it's insane that they don't already have a plan for if Superman turns evil.
Thereâs a phrase that really stuck in my head around this. It was from one of the British divers who enacted the Thai caving rescue, though I couldnât tell you which one or which interview.
As he described to the interviewer a moment of panic and how he he overcame, the interviewer said, in one of those, summarise-last-answer-given-with-appropriate-levels-of-respect-in-order-to-proceed-to-next-question phrasingâs, âWow, so you rose to the occasion -â
And the diver said, âNo, actually people always get that exactly wrong. In an unexpected and urgent situation you donât rise to the occasion. You sink to the level of your training.â
Happy May 4th to Leia Organa character of all time I think even now we donât as a society have enough respect for her. 19 year old career politician in a illiberal fronting fascist state wherein she needs to keep up appearances of general compliance while also secretly working as a high ranking member of an underground resistance force. And she is 19. She should not even be at the club she should be killing it on a star college debate team but sheâs a senator in a fascist space wizard run empire and sheâs not only doing her best sheâs kind of hitting it out of the park. Also her entire family and planet gets blown up like act one that also happened and everyone kind of just expected her to handle it. And sheâs 19.
Anyway she would have been justified in going apeshit at any given time and I would have supported her fall to the darkside #istandwithleia
Canât wait to not sleep at all on September 11th
i know ur from the uk(?) but reading this as an american is really really funny
why đ itâs about twenty one pilots???? Their new album is out sep 12th????
THERE'S TWENTY ONE THIS TIME???
i started reading this book and kept tilting my head at the comparisons the author was using so i started a running list of them
this author's use of imagery is so questionable
i actually went "what the fuck" and had to stop for like 5 minutes after this one
these sort of descriptions are better used in first person or third person limited, used to make your main character quirky and quick-witted
because if you use them in third person omniscient im going to assume the narrator is an actual character in your book who is 1) more interesting than your main characters and 2) a god who is going to step in eventually and change the genre to absurdism
What book is this?
(checks comments)
Console Wars by Blake J. Harris?
(looks it up)
Wait...
This is a NONFICTION book!?
Why does that make me wanna read it more!?
I feel like "catching a shadow and pulling its teeth with a needle from a haystack" is an EXCELLENT way to describe a well-written scifi-fantasy-adventure novel that has a complex plot, with multiple sub-goals that must be completed before the overall purpose of the journey can be achieved.
"they were all now ominously agreeing like a fleet of bobblehead dolls in the trunk of a car headed off a steep cliff" sounds like a beautifully horrific way to describe a group of well-meaning individuals who have been thoroughly brainwashed and manipulated into blindly following Satan himself straight into Hell.
And finally, "he hadn't been able to put his finger on the nature of these barnacles of dread until now" is a great way to describe being acutely aware that something is very very wrong, but not being able to identify what is wrong, or why it's wrong, or how it's wrong. And then suddenly, all the pieces finally come together.
Sometimes you just need complex, wordy imagery to convey complex concepts and ideas. (And who knows, maybe being neurodivergent vs. neurotypical affects the way an individual uses descriptions like these to express themself."
Honestly i think these are great they remind me of Pratchette
