The Felidae
Repost, now do your honors.
Trans people just existing is no more sexual than when cis people just exist.
Life doesn't even feel like the "This is fine" dog anymore.
It feels like someone is running around with a flamethrower and the dog is like "Okay all I have is this spray bottle but if enough of us focus on this one area, we can put out the fire or make it harder to burn!"
And we do focus and sometimes we put the fire out, but while we're working on that, Flamethrower Jerk is setting 10 new fires and also turning off the water supply.
En Anglais, on ne dit pas âquatre vingt dix neufâ, on dit âninety nineâ qu'on pourrait traduire comme âHurr durr, regardez mois, j'ai un système de numĂŠrotation fonctionnelâ et je crois que c'est magnifique.

Howls moving castle book fanart
I'll never stop hyping up other people OC's because what do you mean you created this thing out of the love of the game and gave life not just to them, but the other characters around them
Please keep bringing up the whimsy in my timeline I will literally snort it like a line of coke

my stomach aches
Me: "Damn people are REALLY BAD at knowing when to tag their eyestrain art/images...either that or they just don't care about photosenitive epileptic people like me. I feel really sad now." Person: "But Allison, what if they just don't know or understand what qualifies as eyestrain and what doesn't?" Me: "You know what? That could be a factor...While it is always better to be safe rather than sorry (so YES people should always tag eyestrain even if they're unsure if it "counts" or not) maybe you've got a point?"
Anyways! HERE'S YOUR HANDY GUIDE TO WHAT CAN COUNT AS EYESTRAIN! I'm pulling this straight from the Artfight rules page about what needs to be labeled and filtered as eyestrain because it's VERY helpful and VERY accurate! I also know not everybody has an AF account and might not always have access to this handy guide, and this is an important resource; That's why I'm sharing it here! (under the cut)
PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!!! THIS IS ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OTHERS!!!
by the way this is medical. this could save somebody from a migraine all the way to a seizure. this has always been serious. treat this seriously.

Magical Girl Rocky
*tap tap* Rocky do good question?
Hello!
I've entered the final phase of my graduate degree program in Folklore and Ethnology. My coursework and fieldwork/data collection complete, I am now in the process of writing my thesis during this summer trimester.
As planned, the support so many of you so generously provided, in addition to an education stipend I earned through environmental work, enabled me to enroll in and attend courses in my program, afford housing, and generally live everyday as a student for the duration of my course modules.
The funds lasted exactly as long as planned (literally to the day, I couldn't believe it lol!), and I could not be more grateful for every cent and word of support I received over this last year and a half.
In the final leg of my program, I must ask for support of one final need: There are quite a few books I need which I cannot access through my university, from friends and classmates, my professors, online archives & epublications, or any other means. Some are difficult to find in the first place to be able to purchase at all.
Put simply: I need some help buying books!
Many of them have Ebook editions for as little as âŹ15,00! Others I have to actually email the authors and ask for personal PDFs, but they still aren't too expensive.
I began a new job recently and am on my way, but I won't have the couple hundred euro it will ultimately cost to purchase all of these books this month in order to have them while I work on my thesis.
If anyone has a few bucks to throw at me, I'd be very grateful for the support! Thank you, so much, for all you've already done! MY KOFI: https://ko-fi.com/slorglvr1000

Reblogging for the signed art.
âUnfinished Paintingâ â Keith Haring
This painting was left intentionally incomplete. Haring began it when he was dying due to complications from AIDS, and knew he didnât have much time left. The piece represents the incomplete lives of him and many others, lost to AIDS during the crisis.
âAIDS Memorial Quiltâ â Multiple
This quilt is over 50 tons heavy, and one of, if not the, largest pieces of community folk art. Many people who died of AIDS did not receive funerals, due to social stigma and many funeral homes refusing to handle the deceasedâs remains, so this was one of the only ways their lives could be celebrated. Each panel was created in recognition of someone who died due to AIDS, typically by that personâs loved ones.
âUntitledâ (Portrait of Ross in L.A.) â Felix Gonzalez-Torres
This pile of candy weighs the same amount as Gonzalez-Torresâ partner, Ross Laycock, did. Ross Laycock had died due to AIDS-related complications earlier that same year. Visitors who see this piece are encouraged to take some of the candy. As they do so, the pile of candy weighs less and less, like how AIDS had deteriorated the body of Ross Laycock.
The SF Gay Men's Chorus
This photo was taken in 1993. The men in white are the surviving original members. Every man in black is standing in for an original member who lost their lives to AIDS.
âElectric Fan (Feel it Motherfuckers); Only Unclaimed Item from the Stephen Earabino Estate, 1997â â John Boskovich
After the death of his lover, Stephen Earabino, from AIDS, Boskovich discovered that his family had completely cleared his room, including Boskovichâs own possessions, save for this fan. An entire person, existence and relationship had been erased, just like so many lives during the AIDS crisis. Boskovich encased the fan in Plexiglass, but added cutouts so that its air may be felt by the viewer, almost like an exhalation. In a sense, restoring Earabinoâs breath.
âBlueâ â Derek Jarman
This was Jarmanâs final feature film, released four months before his death from AIDS-related complications. These complications had left him visually impaired, able to only see in shades of blue. This film consists of a single shot of a saturated blue color, as the soundtrack to the film described Jarmanâs life through narration, intercut with the adventures of Blue, a humanization of the color blue. The film's final moments consist of a set of repeated names: âJohn. Daniel. Howard. Graham. Terry. Paul". These are the names of former lovers and friends of Jarman who had died due to AIDS.
âUntitledâ (Perfect Lovers) â Felix Gonzalez-Torres
Created by the same man who created the previous untitled piece, this piece was also inspired by his loverâs deterioration and death due to AIDS. This piece consists of two perfectly alike clocks. Over the course of time, one of the clocks will fall out of sync with the other.
In a letter written to his lover about the piece, before his loverâs passing, Gonzalez-Tourres wrote, âDon't be afraid of the clocks, they are our time, the time has been so generous to us. We imprinted time with the sweet taste of victory. We conquered fate by meeting at a certain time in a certain space. We are a product of the time, therefore we give back credit were it is due: time. We are synchronized, now forever. I love you.â
Please feel free to reblog with more additions
"Dear God" - Derek Jarman. Mixed media, (1987)
My favourite of Jarman's "black paintings" created on the first anniversary of his diagnosis with AIDS.
Untitled (Sometimes I Come to Hate People) - David Wojnarowicz (1992)
The last work of art created by East Village multimedia artist and activist David Wojnarowicz. Originally intended to be part of a series of 3, Wojnarowicz became too sick to finish the 3rd work in the series. Featuring red text sourced from his diary superimposed on a black and white photograph of wounded, bandaged hands, Wojnarowicz confronts his deterioration and impending death due to AIDS. He died on July 22, 1992 at the age of 37; the public demonstration held in the wake of his death would be one of the first political funerals of the AIDS crisis. In 1996, his ashes were scattered on the White House lawn.
âEvery time somebody dies of AIDS, I think their lover, their friends, should drive with their bodies 100 miles an hour down to the White House, and throw their body over the White House fence.â - David Wojnarowicz, Close to the Knives

I know I havenât posted literally anything in ages, but I had an idea, and this is the only place I can share it
What if Ryland was too late to save Rocky after the Taumoeba escaped. What if he arrived, and Rocky had already died of radiation. And what if Grace, having gone this far, decides he canât let the Eridians all die, and sets a course for Erid.
What if once he arrives, he has no way to speak to the Eridians. they donât know English, and he canât speak Eridian, but what he does have is hundreds and hundreds of recordings of Rocky speaking. So he plays the recordings to the Eridians, in some attempt to communicate.
and all of these terrified Eridians have to listen to a leaky, horrifying alien puppeting the stilted voice of one of their saviours.
He tells them that heâs a friend of the Eridian whose voice he is using, and that he means well, and he only wants to save them all. And yet he tells them that their saviours are all dead in space, of a disease he claims to know and understand, but no other Eridian has ever heard of. they donât know why he would do it, but it is impossible not to suspect that this grotesque, horrifying alien had a part in these deaths, and that his reasons for using their saviours voice is just as horrifying as it sounds.
(And yet, when he tells them his name, the recorded voice of their saviour is suffused with affection)
Hes like a black cat to me
