Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.

#I think about this all the time #like I tried to watch the little mermaid with my 5 y/o niece a few months ago #she couldn’t hack it #the shark at the beginning scared her too much #which I understand but I swear I was like 5/6 when I watched it #it’s like she (my niece) hasn’t been taught through tv programs and films they watch now that danger doesn’t always mean imminent doom #like I’m pretty sure I understood plot armour as a concept by that age #like yes this is terrifying but it’s going to be okay because they’re not gonna kill off Ariel in the first 15 mins of the film #but she was just so scared that the little fish was going to get eaten (Flounder — she loved Flounder)#we had to turn it off #which is fine #it’s just so interesting to me
