It makes me so fucking happy to know that others know about Jamiroquai. For a long time I was the only person in my group who knew about him (and that shit felt so alienating).

Whenever I hear people making jokes about “performative males” and giving shit to literally any leftist guy with a certain look, I can only see it as gender essentialism. Like, do you actually have a problem with something genuinely harmful this guy said or did, or are you just disgusted by and distrustful of any man who calls himself progressive? Did he give you any reason to not trust him other than nebulous “bad vibes”? Did he actually say or do anything threatening, or are you assuming he’s a phony because you believe all men are hardwired to be evil and predatory and any progressive or feminist man is just lying to sucker in women and then prey on them?

It will always fuck me up that as Titanic was going down, her signal was so weak that the only ship capable of picking it up clearly throughout the night was Olympic; not helped by the fact that almost every ship that had heard the news was talking over each other at the time. Olympic at one point reached a breaking point and very bluntly told everyone to shut the fuck up so they could hear the dying cries of Titanic. There was no way Olympic could cross over 400 miles before Titanic foundered, but the last boilers were lit, and she steamed as fast as she could just in case there was a chance her baby sister could be reached in time. But there never was.
