A lesbian couple in their 70s bought this plate from me yesterday, and as I was wrapping it up, one of them remarked that not so long ago they couldn’t even say the word “lesbian” aloud 😭 Those women have been together for almost 40 years and for the first two decades they couldn’t even call it what it was. What a precious reminder of how far we’ve come and how much the generations before us have been through— I’m so emotional that this piece find the perfect home
