I don’t think I ever fully considered that the 20 years of love might go unspoken and even unnoticed, which is my bad considering previous quotes such as “maybe then I’m not know Sid cares so much about me” . however. I’m baffled stunned and oddly giddy at the prospect that they’ve been bumbling around for two full decades absolutely soul-bonded, red string of fate like a vice, and totally oblivious.
what if we were teammates of 19 years who said things like "i remember watching you play in latvia, thinking how lucky i was that i was going to be your teammate" and "sid saved me" and "only for pittsburgh, always with sid" and "i just always liked him from the start. always have. always will"... and we were both boys
(and what if sports reporters wrote alpha/alpha romance about us. what then.)
white europeans love to pretend like the united states and europe aren’t two cheeks of the same ass
Listen, nobody who's ever opened a history book says we didn't do that shit first. Pick an atrocity and chances are there was a time europeans did it on mass to someone for the sake of profit. The difference, is that we have for the most part put the worst of it behind us, while the US is just sinking deeper and deeper into it. We're not perfect, and we were a lot worse in the past. But it has been a while since we were the problem.
Edit: After recieving plenty of anon hate, first off, we pissing on the poor here?
"Well actually it was europe who raced to conquer africa" - see the start of the post, I know that, I said so myself.
"Oh so europe learned racism from america!?" Not what, I said, strawman argument, next.
"But what about how europe is being racist to "insert people"!?" First of, I never said all racism in europe was gone, there is still racism found all over the place. But unlike in the US, a vast majority of this is by individuals found largely in isolated rural areas (again, note, not all, but most), as opposed to the straight up institutionalized racism backed by the US government and a a significant percentage of the common folk.
Aka, Europe, while not flawless, has largely left the worst parts of racism behind. There is still plenty of things to fix, but the trend is on a whole (but not neccesarily for all specific aspects) decidedly improving.
Unlike in the US where the number of hatecrimes per year has been on the rise since around 2013 (with france here being a notable outlier in europe where the number has also gone up lately, so again, not perfect). Next, despite only making up about 13% of the US total population, nearly half the people in state prisons are of color. On pretty much all levels, when adjusting for population, white people proportionally hold a vast majority of the higher paying jobs, and white people on all job levels make more money than non-white people.
And then of course there is ICE. A state funded militia which regularly mistreats, and both accidentaly and purposfully kill people bases on straight up racial profiling. Which, yes, gets a lot of pushback by a big portion of the US, but also gets applauded by many, and importantly, the state fully backs them up.
The US is also a big player in forcing other nations hands in backing Israel. They certainly don't hold all the blame, but we know they have directly and indirectly held economic threats against EU member states to keep them on Israel's side. And in modern times if the US weren't present to start a war in the middle east, they nearly always butted in to fuck up the rebuilding process afterwards, which is a whole other tangent but let me tell you, while again, Europe started it when they rushed to split up the Ottoman Empire, no other nation has caused as much damage to the middle east in modern times as the US
So I'm sorry, but to all the people (or the one/ few repeating anons) who have been spamming me after I posted this. I stand by it. Europe has plenty of problems, economic disparity, generic dislike of immigrants regardless of where they are from, political issues (comparatively trivial compared to the US, but still) and plenty more. But when it comes to racism, for the most part, no matter where you're from you can go to most places and be fine. There will be small things, and certainly specific cases where you see bigger issues. But on a whole, racism is a lesser problem. Still a problem, but not a significantly impactfull everyday problem.
Unlike in the US, where you fought a war over race, had massive historicall landmark protests over race, yet still to this day struggle to the point that normal news from the US make the fucking union newpaper look tame. So yes, compared to Europe, the US is the fucking problem.
Rant over
@hiimneptune I am going to assume you are white. If so please shut the fuck up. You cannot go to most places in Europe and be “fine” as a Black person.
And for the record I am not American

Jesus Tapdancing Christ... THIS is a good welt pocket and the people who designed Simplicity 2895 ought to be blasted well ASHAMED of themselves for the crap way THEY wanted a welt pocket made. *SNARLS*
This is how I learned to do it and a good example of what you want to see in a short form tutorial: pinning, pressing, seam finishing, good fabric handling.
I would mention that you can make the pocket facing with a small panel of your matching fabric that is visible and the rest in a lighter fabric to reduce bulk. That's a lot of denim layers for comfort.
HOT DAMN

Let me settle this. Neither Svetlana nor Ilya are the sensible friend. Neither one is doing well. They are losing things in the club. Debit card: gone. Passport: wet. They are putting tablets in each other’s mouths. They are winking at each other as they lead various pretty people to the bathroom. They are screaming “this is my song!!!!” Whenever some generic 2010s anthem comes on. The only thing I’ll concede is that sometimes one of them is slightly less drunk when they’re getting home and helping the other one and when it’s Ilya who is slightly less drunk his inner monologue is “this is how I prove myself as a man. I am the pinnacle of integrity. Is anyone watching me comport myself with respect and dignity as I assist this wild woman” but crucially he’s throwing up in a storm drain while Svetlana is screaming into her phone in Russian because Ilya was too busy puking to keep her from calling her ex.
Svetlana still lets him fuck her that night. No kissing tho.
And Svetlana’s inner monologue isn’t any better in terms of a superiority complex: “Ilya is misguided. He is still ‘hooking up.’ I am becoming entangled in 13 week long situationships with stockbrokers in open relationships with spouses they previously cheated on. These people care about me. I am a romantic.”
She’s thinking this while Ilya drinks a prosecco split out of her belly button before passing out with a sigh that sounds like ‘svane.’ Somehow Ilya ends up in the dry spot on the bed and at one point she considers rolling him onto the floor.
But when they wake up at 3am absolutely wounded and dehydrated and blood pumping like cement through their hearts, Ilya does grill her a cheese. She uses the good glasses Ilya doesn’t appreciate and fills them with ice and his purple gatorade that he only shares with her. Svetlana asks him how his father is doing. Ilya says he’s fine, he’s taking care of it.
i can’t stop thinking about ilya clubbing circa 2011. diesel jeans, shitty prada button up, hair absolutely CRISPY with gel. cliff marleau on his left tricked out head to toe in ed hardy. cloud of fucking paco robanne in the booth. cîroc with a sparkler sticking out of the neck. “this my fucking song, marly!” and it’s david guetta’s ‘where them girls at.’ he’s so drunk, he’s so loud, he’s got the drips, he’s spent $2300 in two hours. no one knows he’s gonna be gay married in ten years. i have to cry!
oh i'm going to misusle and straight up fuckle this knowledge so badly
NMC, baby!!!!

“if you could pick up another language, what would it be?”
“i’d go russian. i’d love to know what geno says or has said over the years… i’d love to know 🥰 i just want to know (giggles) 🥰”
no one does it like them.
