The "he is MARRIED" argument is soooo heavy back home, I don't know why every single time Sid acts like it is going to convince Geno....... Nate knows how much it pisses him off so he will be extremely kind to Nikita (he genuinely is but still) to stay even longer! And if Geno ever says "are you homeless??" (again) Sid will backhand him istg

Do you think after all that back and forth over almost two decades they can be away from more than 100m of e/o? Does Geno ever lose Sid in the supermarket and get freaked out? Does Sid side eye the fact that Ovi tries to meet some of his friends? (You know the gorgeous russian brunettes that are casually single idk)

Sid eventually stops using the "he is married" argument because it does genuinely make Geno upset, and he knows how his failed marriage hangs in G's head. Geno has told him on a few occasions that if he were to do it again, he wouldn't get involved with Anna, which Sid doubts because Nikita is Genos life, but Sid knows deep down that hurting Anna is Genos biggest regret in life, in front of not getting with Sid sooner.

But Sid also never kicks Nate out, and they train and go fishing and skate and talk in that stupid thick maritime accent. And the more comments Geno makes the less likely he is to get laid that night, so it's up to him to decide whats really important.

ALSO, Nikita has sort of a big collection of Sid hockey cards. Not from Sid himself, he thinks it'd be weird, and Niki probably wouldnt want them anyways. But Nate slips them to Nikita like under the table, like, "I asked Tim Hortons if they had any from his rookie year, I have gold for you." He finds any cards that have both Geno and Sid on them and send them to the kid during the off season. They both giggle about it a lot.

I definitely think that this SId and Geno were always really very clingy to a degree that they aren't IRL, they are attatched to the hip, the're codependent to levels of willmack. So, that much hasn't changed, and only gets worse since they sleep in the same bed and drive in the same car now.

They don't have seperation anxiety per say, they can go a while without seeing the other, Geno still goes out, and Sid prefers to stay in. Now Sid gets to tuck Niki into bed and have a quiet night in, wearing Genos sweats, which is peak to him. Sid goes to lunch with all his Canadian pals whenever they're in town, and he has a lot of responsibities as captain Geno isn't around for.

But certainly, a day without each other is alright, but more than that is tense. If they chat over the phone its better. But they prefer not to sleep without the other at all. If they want to feel well rested. Geno will be blamed if they lose after he spent the night elsewhere.

Bro Sid and Nikita always had a close relationship, and Sid used to have SUCH mixed feelings about it. Because he was Uncle Sid. He was always around, he was around maybe a little too much, and he knows, even back then, he had somewhat of a fatherly relationship to Niki. Which was totally and completely unfair to Anna, he knows. And he tried to step away a couple of times, but he can never say no to Geno, and they're always together. Constantly.

So much so that almost every time that Geno facetimes Nikita from on the road, Uncle Sid is there in the room. And Niki's always asking about him, so Geno beckons Sid over and they all have a chat. All 3 of them, with Anna holding the phone. Which isn't weird. At all. Sids asking about his art project, and if he could figure out the English book he was trying to read, and Niki's asking if Sid will help him finish it at home. And Sids really not this kids dad, its not his place, but he cannot say no to the little face that look so much like Genos :(

People who didn't know Sid truly used to mistake Nikita for his, and thats when he knew he had to lay off a little, but man did he love it. He always wanted kids, but he knew for one reason or another they weren't happening until he was done with hockey. But it doesn't seem that way anymore.

Once Geno and him make it official, Nikita takes to it really quite fast, totally psyched that Sids around more. Asking him endless questions, always asking Geno if Sid is gonna stay over. Niki never really stuck with the uncle title, but he certainly drops it over the first year Sid and Geno are officially dating. Sid starts bringing Niki around more, Niki will come over after school to Sids house for a snack and help with his school work, and a lot of playing outside and with Sid's old lab while Genos off doing something or another.
