Karl, everyone's favourite war criminal hero, is slowly assembling his friends, including the newly introduced Alois Pohl (who is just intimidating as he looks).

Julia, due to her position has every reason to be sceptical of flattery and generosity, so the best way to befriend her is to give responses unusual enough to spark her curiousity about the person behind those answers.

Working on these pages made me reflect on the feelings which started Polsterreich: the fantasy of a friendship between someone who has found herself in a strange country and an official who wishes for a feminine companionship.

Meet Sven Dönsten, Karl's best friend and fellow Terrible War veteran, currently a family man running a toyshop. Karl is obsessed with pursuing glory, Sven not so much.

Even though I'm Silesian myself, It's tricky to represent a real culture in a fictional universe, and I only get a few opportunities like these, as the plot and intent of Polsterreich is something else entirely ^^; And what better way to showcase a culture than food?

Food present in the pages: meat rolls (Rolady/Rouladen), potato dumplings (Kluski/Klöße), poppyseed cake (Makowiec/Mohnstrudel) and a basic layer cake from seasonal fruit (Tort/Torte)
