Gender reveal parties, and big planned reveals, literally were not a thing ten, fifteen years ago. Don’t let anyone pull that “it’s a tradition!” crap on you, youngsters. They’re LYING. Lumberjacks, like most megafauna species generally require more space than the average hardware store, even a big box store could provide. The misconception is that Lumberjacks are a social species because of how they often work and live together.

This is a matter of necessity, not preference, and a survival technique for thriving under the LogBoss.

A “pack” of Lumberjacks, if not under the environmental pressure of a LogBoss will naturally disperse until they each have a wide territory.

Lumberjacks rarely fight for territory.

One on one, a Lumberjack could drive out a Dad or Lesbian, however the latter tend to travel in social packs.

Lumberjacks will passively retreat on the presence of large numbers of people. Kind of like Sasquatch.

Getting a “pack” of Lumberjacks assembled would be hard enough unless they were forced into a Hardware Store by a LogBoss. In that case, they would already be in a heightened and potentially agitated state far above their natural behavior. This artificial scenario can be likened to a circus animal running amok. If it had been in the wild, the incident would not have occurred.

Free-roaming Lumberjacks are the cryptids of the Hardware ecosystem. They are surprisingly quiet and unobtrusive.

The entire scene is presented and brushed off as an awkward, comedic event. Peter is too caught up in the moment of seeing MJ (and having her actually speak to him again) that he speaks to her as if she’s the MJ of his universe. He’s apologizing for not being there for her how and when she needed him to be, saying he wished he had another chance to give her everything she deserves.

MJ, not realizing the situation, understandably becomes uncomfortable at the awkwardness of the conversation, and tries to end it to return to her table.

We all know that this moment helped play a part in Peter later trying to work things out with his universe’s MJ at the end. But I’ve been wondering if there’s more to it than just that and some comedic relief?

MJ is visibly sad when she first approaches him, and understandably so - she just lost her husband, after all. But do you think, while speaking to him, she noticed he was wearing the most realistic “costume” out of any of the servers? Do you think she noticed the eyes expanding and reacting to the man under the mask’s facial expressions, the same as her Spider-Man’s attire did? It’s clearly different from the static, motionless masked faces of the store-bought costumes that the other servers are wearing, so do you think she’d have noticed? And if she did…

Do you think that maybe after walking away, even for just a brief moment, she lost herself into thinking that was her Spider-Man speaking to her again? Her Peter?

Do you think she heard his apologies and, while she dreamt that night, used them as an almost “beyond the grave” moment of closure? Do you think she heard her Peter’s voice in her head this time, apologizing for all the missed dates over the years, breakfasts eaten alone, and sleepless nights filled with worry while he was out doing his Spider-Man duties? Do you think she heard him telling her he wishes he could have spent just one more night with her? That he loves her and thinks she deserves the world?

Because I’d like to think that she did. And I just hope it brought her some peace.

Whrn the group moves to the left, Gwen is the one who takes her eyes off him to make sure the group roubds the corner. Miles turns his head both times, but not only is he the center of the group, but his leg is one of the few things keeping Peni suspended meaning he needs to pay the most attention to the wall.

Noir and Spidey both keep their eyes completely on chair-guy on the first pass. Noir only looking away when they go back for a split second to confirm where they are going, before snapping back to the “threat”. Spidey however, doesnt look away, which leads to his feet dangling in the air while they round the corner.

And of course Porker is a cartoon and bound to his own Roger Rabbit logic as he squeezes behind them without disturbing them.

It May seem silly to point this stuff out, but it informs so much about the individual characters, and really needs to be appreciated ot terms of great animation techniques.

This is also the best shot for showing off the different art designs ie. Noires filter over his image, the cartoon nature of Ham, and even small details in the difference between Gwen and the other two mainline spideys.

Like, she’s up there too, and out of all of them she’s the one who technically doesn’t have any of the spider powers necessary to stick to the walls. So how is she staying up there?

Look at how they’re both positioned: Miles keeps his right leg angled so that Peni has a sort of perch to keep her legs against, even while they’re on the move, while her upper body is being held in place by Gwen’s left hand (Gwen’s entire left arm isn’t visible in the movements, compared to how we see everyone else’s arms).
