Inspired by 1) my childhood dog, who would immediately start chewing faster if anyone noticed him eating non edible things and 2) my brother, who ate a beetle that one time for no other reason than to prove he could.

We also had a moth infestation once when I was a kid, and every time I went to check if the cereal was covered in moths or not, that same brother would tease me to eat it anyways for the extra protein >:p

I really loved these episodes a lot and wish I could've drawn everything...episode 37 kinda took over my brain though

Stratt was a historian. She wasn't just pirating for the sake of entertainment for the astronauts, she was doing a full historical backup of the planet. Who knows how much knowledge and communications ability, how much art and culture and history, how much niche knowledge of how to make specific pieces of modern technology or modern medicines, was lost as the wars for resources isolated everyone, as the death tolls led to the deaths of specialized trade workers and scientists, as the power grids failing across the planet (or cut off, potentially) led to all the cloud servers going dark. Stratt was facing methods of combating extinction and she did her best to ensure that if/when the Hail Mary worked, it would send back not just the hope of the future in the solution to the astrophage, but the restoration of history and culture and knowledge.

it's an okay episode! i was charmed by some of the gags (coran's redoing his room and the portrait of himself and alfor) and overall.... it was an okay episode. just like the rest of the first half of this season. unsurprisingly, all we get of hunk is that one scene at the beginning, he vanishes once lance gets the dinner date, same with shiro. kind of understandable, since this is more of an "allura and lance, with the colony altean as a side plot" episode, but it finds the breathing space for a minor pidge subplot that's.... okay. actually kind of charming, really.

overall, i did remember that the scene of allura reviving the park is where i cottoned on that she was gonna die to restore/revive whoever honerva killed in the finale

other things of note:

the one shot of honerva we get, i'm pretty sure was a kihyun ryu bc that looked like his lineart style

did... they.... redub/bring in a last-minute sub for a coran line? he went from sounding like rhys darby for the rest of the episode to that one line of him getting romelle to talk to luka sounds like someone doing a near-perfect impression of him but for the slight benoit blanc style southern drawl across his voice
