these are the people running reddit. these are the people banning feminism subs, lesbian subs, PMS/PMDD subs, endometriosis subs, PCOS subs, and more for "transphobia".

this is why female-only subreddits are only allowed when it involves women as the subject for men to consume and jerk off to: (usually violent) porn, or corrective rape against lesbians, or violent fantasies against women.

We've been letting them ban our subs for a decade, but this time it's different. Reddit is public now. They have a stock price. That means we can do real damage if we cause enough of a fuss.

We should organize around this. We need a feature in a big paper or mainstream news company, highlighting how women are systematically targeted and silenced on Reddit.

We all know it's one of the most misogynistic places on the internet, with the context of all the female hate subs they allow to stay up while our feminist spaces are taken down, it's honestly a salacious story.

Yep. this is very relevant to the specific situations I am discussing as well. Many of these men who've been outed as abusers had lyrics glorifying toxic relationships, presenting violence as a marker of intensity and therefore 'real love'. Pre-emptively shielding themselves from criticism while mass-manipulating their mostly-teenage fanbase to equate violence and predation with intensity and attraction.

And when they were outed, they apologized for 'mistakes' they claimed to have committed 'unintentionally', further claiming that 'finding out' they abused fans is 'deeply hurtful' to them.

Im just saying, your analogy is bad and your stance is bad. Actually promote enforcing the rape and trafficking laws we have. If all porn and sex work is done illegally and women never willfully go into porn and sex work, then enforcing rape and sex traficking laws will end porn and sex work.

You're mad at a symptom, and like yeah be mad women are raped and traficked, but get mad and try to change the system. Adding more laws to outlaw sex work, which in most countries is already illegal, doesn't solve the systematic issue. Adding more laws that men aren't going to enforce solves nothing.

I agree with you that capitalism is the root of many evil, and would consider myself a marxist feminist. However, I can acknowledge that prostitution is unique among types of exploitation because it is rape. Coerced work is a problem, but coerced sex is rape.

To address the bodily autonomy comment, I strongly believe in bodily autonomy, which is why I am against all forms of rape, paid or otherwise. If you are not free to say no, due to fear of hunger or homelessness, your yes means nothing. Therefore, prostitution is a violation of bodily autonomy rather than an expression of it.

I haven't seen many posts about this, but part of the reason radical feminists and women in general are getting effectively silenced is because men control tech, and there are few women with the skills to set up our own networks.

I'm not saying learn to code and get a job in tech, but your activism can be so much more effective if you have a solid coding foundation. Need a list of all the Crisis Pregnancy Centers (fake abortion clinics) in the USA, in a data format that's easy to track and update with new info over time? That would take hundreds of hours manually. I can write a scraping script, set up a local sqlite database, and get running in a weekend. If I want to make that list public-facing, but don't want the hassle of setting up a more robust database like PostgresQL or MySQL, I can export a JSON file and make a web page that generates listings for each entry in the file.

Automating manual data entry saves so much time. Web scraping saves so much time. Knowing how to access APIs to get the data you need saves so much fucking time.
