Alas, this occurred in 1995 and the company is long gone.

The demo was actually conducted using his laptop browser opening his site off-line; no webserver involved. Just a collection of pages stored on his drive C: that frog-guy created using notepad.exe, an impressive feat at the time. Once he onboarded we let him host his frog menagerie on the corporate LAN but I don't think we ever gave it public access.

Our project manager (also at the interview) nabbed the computer-frog instantly and I haven't spoken with anybody from that organization since 1998, so... yeah.

If I had the froggy I'd show y'all. And yes, it’s all true.

Historically, comedy gets edgier during difficult times.

The show seems silly, possibly quaint by 2026 standards, but Laugh-In was born during the height of Viet Nam war protests. It was considered dangerously edgy for its time. Same with the Smothers Brothers, whose comedy/variety show was cancelled to silence their pointed political observations.

Honestly I think "Why doesn't Bruce Wayne use his money to fix Gotham instead of being Batman" is a pretty interesting question, because it allows you to analyze why certain writing choices are made, and how the evolving attitudes towards quote unquote 'crime' and 'criminals' has impacted superhero comics as a genre. But that gets ignored in favor of just saying "Um actually OP don't you know he DOES try to do that and it doesn't work?"
