Ingredients: 8 pieces of chicken drumsticks, thighs, or breasts. 2 cups all-purpose flour. 2 tablespoons paprika. 1 tablespoon garlic powder. 1 tablespoon onion powder. 1 tablespoon dried oregano. 1 tablespoon dried basil. 1 tablespoon salt. 1 tablespoon black pepper. 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper. 2 cups buttermilk. Vegetable oil for frying.
Instructions: In a large bowl, mix together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Pour buttermilk into another bowl. Dip each piece of chicken into the buttermilk, then coat thoroughly with the flour mixture. Shake off excess flour. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350F 175C. Carefully place chicken pieces into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry chicken for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165F 75C. Remove chicken from oil and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy!
