this “bon appetit” meme has turned into some sort of bizarre telephone game where each incarnation sounds more and more different than the original. in what way does “bon appetit” sound like “osteoporosis”
i don’t know but it’s cracking me up every time i even think about it
bon appetit -> bone apple teeth -> bone ??? ??? -> osteoporosis
this has layers, man
Finance department asking the real questions
The answer here is, obviously, that in the world of Cars there would be no such thing as 'car insurance' as we understand it because cars are people. However, they would refer to life insurance as 'car insurance' bcos it would be a solid goof. Ergo the wrong answer is winning.
Decided that since this is displayed in the shared office space we're all invited to participate and went through to add a vote, forgetting that one of the managers from a different office is working in there today, had to explain to him who Lightning McQueen is.
"I would never jeopardize the beans" pales in comparison to it's newest successor, "beans r not woke. How could u do this?"

Ebola is still spreading in several countries in central Africa. How did the outbreak manage to spread so far and infect so many people without being detected? This guy!
This guy, in violation of Congressional funding allocation, withdrew tons of international aid. The end of USAID was orchestrated without warning, without a wind-down plan, leaving critical infrastructure to simply collapse.
And then you can’t even say shit about bc people start trying to put you in a jacket and shit. Like omg it’s so strict???
I saw an otter briefly hop on top of a babirusa at the zoo and when the stranger standing next to me heard my camera shutter click he turned to me with this look of immense relief, put his hand to his chest, and said in a dead serious tone “oh thank christ someone caught that on film”
Not the best photo but here it is for posterity
I wanted to draw them
i think this captures the defining pathology of the collective social media psyche right now. we are in the thrall of people who are wantonly cruel but who also demand to be coddled at all times in every way
I know we compare sewing machines to horses a lot due to the general tendency to spook at nothing and break their legs, but imagine if you had to clean lint out of tiny crevices inside a horse. it could really be so much worse.
I see someone doesn’t know about cleaning out a horse’s sheath…

Greatest hits of FIFA cultural exchanges thus far:
Learning about flyovers and pyrotechnics at American games being a thing
Non-americans discovering the size of American football stadiums....for high schools in texas. Also the size of our stadiums in general.
Going to baseball games as a side treat! Lmao.
Non-americans losing their minds over "like, 100 petrol pumps," at buc-ees.
Related: Americans often forget how huge target and Walmart is.
People discovering American BBQ
Non-americans being obsessed with mid American restaurant chains like Golden Corral and Taco Bell
A lot of them really did feel god in this chile's apparently
The rightful obsession with waffle house
New understanding of American Big Drink With Ice supremacy as summer creeps in
Begrudging acceptance of mandatory water breaks during games
Americans realizing we have a Team USA and we are not, in fact, just "hosting our friends" from around the world — mostly because we won our first match and our team is decent??? Not amazing but not the worst.
Side rant: us women's football team is legendary good and we should care about that more like. Hello???
Admitting Americans are right about air conditioning
Related: the english team did warm ups in Florida RIP, and also the there's a video of the French team just being like fuck the heat, fuck the sun, this is so hot...
Americans who do not normally care about international football but fucking love a sport and cheering so we're just hyping whatever team is nearby, like we see a party and just show up and learn the chant. Like sorry many of us don't know shit about soccer but if we see a bunch of people in viking helmets or kilts or holding a bunch of flags and cheering we're game.
TAILGATING!!!!
I already said this but American yellow school bus is an international celebrity
The Scottish drank Boston dry of beer apparently, like they quadrupled what Boston normally sells for fourth of July weekend. SAM ADAMS HAD TO GET AN EMERGENCY BEER DELIVERY.
Also the English team fans got kicked out of The Londoner pub in Dallas after drinking 5,000 beers and going over max capacity lmao
Free refill drinks, tortilla chips & salsa.
So many non-americans are going to be here for the 4th of July for our 250th anniversary which is going to be great and hilarious
Non-americans discovering ranch as a beloved condiment
Non-americans understanding American obsession with hamburger now
Japan's homebase is in Texas and the cultural differences are frankly great and also the Japanese fans are SO NICE and helped clean up the stadium after a match???
All the short videos with the eagle screech (which I think is actually a hawk but whatever)
On the note of Americans embracing whatever team is nearby, please enjoy this clip of Kansans going all in for Algeria:
Americans: always down to party
When you don't know the sport or but a horde from across the world has shown up for it:
Following up on that ‘Drinking Boston Dry’ thing….
Further details: the Scottish specifically drank the tap room dry of Boston Lager, which is Sam Adams' signature beer. The tap room downtown does sell other kinds of beer, but our new Scottish friends fucking loved Boston Lager especially.
(Thankfully the main brewery is just a few miles away in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood, which to the best of my knowledge the Scots did not drink dry, but an emergency delivery downtown on a goddamn Saturday morning is still pretty fucking incredible.)
a question for you
Lay it on me mister fuckinyouhard0989
He’s so shy he died
We could’ve had something beautiful together but everbody leaves me
This is badass: Medieval Nubian Fashion Brought to Life. Click through to the link because there’s more replica clothing and it is all stunning!

off topic maybe but the reason human trafficking conspiracy theories are so far removed from reality is actual human trafficking operates in a way that is more socially acceptable than most want to acknowledge. there is an overlap of "human trafficking victim" and "adult or child whose wellbeing is more likely to be disregarded by law enforcement and peers alike"
When I lived in Detroit I remember a huge human trafficking ring got busted up and I actually knew one of the lawyers who worked on the case. The victims (all women) were from poor communities and many of them had been working at strip clubs in the area, the owners of which made deals with both the police and a downtown hotel, where they were housing the women along with the babies they were often forced to give birth to. Some had been kidnapped and drugged and violently kept there and others had simply been manipulated by the men in charge who took away their money and knew they didn’t have anyone who would come looking for them.
Sadly, I honestly feel like it’s happening everywhere all the time and if anything it’s getting worse. Definitely a multi billion dollar globalized industry at this point. You don’t have to look very far to see how every major industry that deals with the wealthy has some sort of connection with either drug smuggling or human trafficking or both.
