If your dialog feels flat, rewrite the scene pretending the characters cannot at any cost say exactly what they mean. No one says “I’m mad” but they can say it in 100 other ways.

Wrote a chapter but you dislike it? Rewrite it again from memory. That way you’re only remembering the main parts and can fill in extra details. My teacher who was a playwright literally writes every single script twice because of this.

Don’t overuse metaphors, or they lose their potency. Limit yourself.

Don’t put a pad on boxers! It doesn’t work and makes a mess

Advil! I use it when my cramps get bad, sometimes I get headaches and it helps with that too! Don’t take more than six though!

Go under warm blankets with nothing but your underwear on, preferably soft blankets, it makes me feel like I’m in a soft cacoon

Oversized sweatshirts! Always good! Especially for dysphoria!

Wear comfy cloths, always good to feel good

Eat warm soup, feels nice in the tum tum

Don’t eat super greasy foods, it can make your skin break you even more! And there are already so many hormones making your skin do crazy thing you don’t want it to get worse! Also it can make cramps worse

If you have to change your stuff in public, flush the toilet.

By the time I was about to start T, I was a master at this, get all your stuff ready, FLUSH and then change that shit at lightning speed. You can flush again if you have to, some guys take fat shits lmao so flushing twice ain’t rare. I just know that was one of my biggest issues and it sucked being in school and popping in the men’s bathroom with that happening.

Boxers are basically a pair of shorts that acts as underwear-

It’s not skin tight, it’s just a pair of shorts made out of a soft material (often without a seam at the crotch) that you wear under other clothes.

“Boyshorts” (that’s what I get is called, but it’s also in the women’s section so I don’t know what they’re actually called)-

Underwear that is in the shape of shorts. These are skintight but not constricting, like typical underwear, don’t have a seam at the crotch, and go down typically about 1/3 of your thigh. They’re longer than your typical short “girl” shorts.

Boxers don’t work well with pads because they’re too loose. “Boyshorts” work just fine with pads because they hold the pad close to your body. I would suggest making sure the pads have wings, just because the crotch area is generally larger in “boyshorts” than it is in typical underwear (because it has to actually cover your entire crotch).

However, both seem to work well with reusable pads since those have wings that clasp together and you can get extenders for them if needed.

Also, Motrin works wonders for my period, it’s basically ibuprofen but either off brand or specifically for muscle pain, I forget which.
